Hi all! Need some assistance from the Carousel of Progress experts. I have been searching for the name of the background song in the 3rd act and have had no luck. The song is playing right as act 3 begins in the 1940s. Sounds similar to Moonlight Serenade. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It sure sounds similar but I don't think it's a known song just something made to resemble the time period and just for COP. I could be wrong though.

I don't remember hearing any song that wasn't a variation of the theme song, either Now is the Time or Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow. What they had done in the past is make it sound old time and really only changed the tempo. That made it sound a whole lot different.

OK, didn't remember that... Big Band Era music, I don't think it is any published song, just a sound alike. I could be wrong because I really am not that old. I was around during the 50s, but, I was too young to be paying attention.

Thanks for posting the clip! I also was thinking at this point that it was made for the ride and not a published song. I tried using shazam to see if it could identify with no luck.

I did search through ride credits and for other songs by the Sherman brothers and even old ride scripts but nothing gives any hint to the song. Posting on here is my last resort . I appreciate the responses!

The song and history

"There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" by Rex Allen (original Disneyland version), and Jean Shepherd (current) from the album The Music of Disney: A Legacy in Song. Composer Robert B. Sherman,Richard M. Sherman. Composed for the 1964 New York World's Fair. When for the first time the carousel of progress appeared as publicity of the future park was to be called EPCOT (Experimental Comunnity Of People Tormorrow) that ended up being Disney World.

That's not what the OP is looking for.

I did you try to Shazam the song?

I tend to agree with what other have said, that this is an original piece of music for the ride that was done in the style of the music from that period.

Thanks for posting Javier. Great info. I found that and listened on YouTube. That has all the versions of "beautiful tomorrow" but doesn't include the song that follows. In the YouTube video posted above it is the song that plays from 12:40 to about 13:35. Playing in the background of roughly the first minute of the 40's.
