I think it depends on what you're looking for.

If you want eay access to MK and Epcot you have the monorail at the Poly....you also have access to the great restaurants at Contemp. and GF in additition to Kona Cafe and Ohana at the Poly. A well planned out room request could land you within walking distance of the TTC too......which is great for hopping to Epcot!

It's more expensive but also offers bigger accomodations and better amenitites.

CBR is going to be easier on the overall cost, has a good food court and has an excellent (and newly renovated) swimming/pool complex.
I will say this about CBR....it's a large resort and your room locale could make for some long walks to the pool and food options. Also, there are several bus stops to make at CBR, meaning longer wait times.

If it were me, and money wasnt an issue, I'd go to the Poly hands down!
If you decide to go with a Moderate resort, I would recommend Riverside or French Quarter......they are excellent!

Those are two totally different properties. One is a ton of money, the other is a moderate. If you can afford it, try the Polynesian, if not, CB is a good decision. I haven's stayed at the Polynesian in nearly a decade, and longer for the CB.

As mentioned above, if money is no issue, Poly would be MUCH better. More restaurants, nicer facilities, bigger rooms and it's on the Monorail.

But CB is a nice resort, was the first moderate and has had renovations.

Both are nice resorts. CB is a bit larger and more spread out, but Poly is a bit easier to get to MK and Epcot. CB does have plenty of room to kinda get away from other people, Poly is a little more crammed in there and harder to do. Also, Poly is mucho dinero. It really depends on your price range personally. You will find people that like/dislike things about each of them.

It's hard to compare a moderate vs deluxe....but if I must...lol...The Poly...I love the atmosphere, you can lay on the beach and see the castle, the lobby is amazing, it's fun to even just find a seat and people watch. Nice stores, loved walking through the art shop. Great food in all dining places (even quick service was good) Beds were bigger. (queens vs full) The monerail will take you to MK or you can walk to the Epcot monerail from the poly. You can easily dine at Comtemp or Grand Floridian...But if you want to save alot of money then I say go ahead and stay at CB. It wasn't a bad resort, it has good food too (just less dining options) and the rooms are nice too (just smaller beds) and you have to take buses everywhere you go. Both pools are nice and my daughter liked them both.

That's a toughie comparing a moderate to a deluxe. BUT...I would say the Poly is worth the price. (with a discount LOL - AAA, AP, or code - don't pay rack rate)

The location - nothing beats being near the MK, and the convenience of the monorail...and the location of the Poly you also have the boats to the MK and the GF and you can walk to the TTC and the GF from the Poly, too. (I hate the Disney bus system - I wouldn't have said that a few years ago...but I think it has really declined) Transportation time is money.

With my family the MK is our favorite with EPCOT being second...we spend most of our vacation time between those parks and the resort, so for us a MK or EPCOT resort makes the most sense. We love being on the monorail route and so connected to the other two MK resorts, shops, restaurants. It's a great vacation experience.

Good luck with your decision.

I've got a lot of Poly info and pics here...

Yeah, COMPLETELY different properties and levels of resort.

I just stayed at Caribbean Beach a week ago. It was nice. I'd have no problem staying there again.

That being said, I stayed at the poly last December. The location of the Poly, along with the theming and other services are all things that are FAR better than Caribbean Beach.

As others have said, money is usually the only reason people would pick CB over Poly. If money is no issue, it's Polynesian all the way.

I have to vote for CBR. We just stayed there two weeks ago and adored it. We were in the Aruba bldg right by the footbridge, an easy walk to everything. We had dinner at 'Ohana at the Poly one night, and we took the opportunity to look around, and I have to say that aside from the convenience of the monorail going right to the MK, we would choose CBR over the Poly any day of the week. We felt it had more of an authentic beach feel to it. And unless price is no obstacle, the savings at CBR can be put to much better use than a room at the Poly. So I have to vote CBR.

I have stayed at both and if money is not an issue then go with the Poly. A lot more laid back and the views are simply beautiful. You can watch the fireword from MK on the beach and you also as a bonus get the light parade. Good food and love the lobby and most of all enjoyed the ease of use of the monarail for MK. Now the Carribean beach is a little to busy and is much larger in size. Poly Restraunt blows CB's away.
