Caribbean Beach Resort

Hello everybody! my name is Kristian, im from the UK

I have been a fan of this site for a long time and always read the forums, and gain valuable knowledge about disney. I am travelling to the caribbean beach in two weeks and have read many mixed reviews from many different sites. I would really appreciate any information that i could recieve from others. Me and my girlfriend are going, we are quite active and enjoy walking so the size of the place wouldn't really be a concern.

Hi Kristian-
My husband, myself and our two children stayed at CB earlier this month. We loved it! We found it to be clean and spacious. We had a great water view room in the Martinique section. Have a great trip! As for me, I am heading back to WDW June 8-13 with my sister and my children. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge due to (what I think) is a great annual passholder rate. Again, have a great trip and enjoy CB!!!!

Hope this makes you feel better--my family has stayed 12 different times at Caribbean Beach. It is beautiful and we have never had any maor complaints. The place is beautiful and well kept, the rooms spacious, the staff friendly, and the food court efficient. You will enjoy yourself.

A lot of the negative reviews deal with the sheer size of the place and people hating the extra physical activity of having to walk. Yo will be fine.

We always request the Island of Aruba. It's beautiful there and a nice walk across Caribbean Cay and some neat foot bridges.

Enjoy your stay, I wish I was there again. :wave:

I had my first visit to CBR in October. The kids and I loved it! Also there was plenty of storage space--a big plus with 4 people in the room. My DH didn't like it as much; he likes AKL much better and he thought the food was too far away. I liked the frequency of the buses and I thought it was a nice walk around the lake to the main building (we stayed in Aruba).

I did meet some people who were having a terrible time. The quiet pool and laundry room were closed at their island (Trinidad?) but they had not been told. There was also some plumbing issue (I can't remember what it was; something was broken) and they had to call multiple times to get it fixed. The lady told me that they were so unhappy they weren't sure they were ever coming back!

I think you will have a fine time at CBR. Just ask first if there's any refurbishment going on when you check in!

CB is lovely - I love island-themed places and when we stayed there both the pool and food court were great. I have relatives that stay there every time they visit.

Also keep in mind that (speaking for myself at least) I have never had a truly "unpleasant" experience at any of the Disney resorts - I've gotten free upgrades without asking for them more times than I've ever had to lodge a complaint, to give you some idea. I am sure you will have a great time! Enjoy your trip, as I'm sure you will!

We stayed in Jamaica. Beautiful walk in the morning across the foot bridges. The bamboo that was growing was enormous. The bus service was very good, very little waits. The housekeeping staff were terrific, very friendly.

You'll have a great time.

I have stayed at Caribbean Beach about 3 times and my parents a few more times then that! We really like it there. It is clean, bright and festive. The pool is great too for little kids who like slides and waterfalls! Also my mom loves a drink they have at the pool bar. I believe it had the word Lava in it hahah...She says its outstanding! So try that haah!! Our October trip we are trying Coronado Springs just bc i'm a disney freak and want to try some new scenery but i totally recommend CB to everybody!! HAVE FUN!!!!! Lucky!!! i wish i was going that soon hah! :lol:

You're right. I think a lot more people appreciate the Resort and the beautiful grounds moreso if they are staying on the other side of the lake in Aruba or Jamaica. We get to cross the footbridges and trek through the Island, which is a lot of fun, is beautiful and peaceful, and home to many, many species of animals. The flora and fauna in this area is just great.

And the bright, relaxful feel of the Caribbean Beach colors really appeals to many visitors, and kids love the pirate inspired main pool. :D
