Caribbean Beach Resort questions

Hi, this is my family's 3rd visit to DW, but our first at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We have reserved a Preferred Location at either Martinique or Trinidad North. I was wondering if anyone here had any comments or tips about the resort. Also, does the resort share buses with other resorts? What stop does the bus visit first upon leaving the resort and returning from the parks? We are visiting the first week of December. Anyone else visited DW and the CBR this same time? How were the crowds on the buses to and from CBR and the parks? Thanks! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Save money and don't stay in a "preferred room."

In reality, the "preferred rooms" should be in Aruba and Jamaica. A short walk across the lake, an island, and two footbridges. It's also on the quieter side of the lake with less foot traffic, and this side of the Resort offers better views of Barefoot Bay and you get the morning sunrise.

We always request ARUBA 52, lake view second floor. We have stayed at Caribbean Beach 12 separate times b/c it was, at one point, our favorite Resort.

I always felt Martinique had the most garish colors. We really enjoy Aruba!

I stayed in Aruba once, and Trinidad North once. Aruba was pre-kids, so we didn't care about location. Trinidad North, which is all preferred location, was with our 5 and 2.5 year olds and we wanted to minimze the walking.

Honestly, the preferred location buildings are no noisier than other buildings. Any increased foot traffic is minimal -- the only people walking by Trinidad North are from Trinidad South, and the only people walking by Martinique are from Barbados. It's hardly a herd of elephants tramping by. The other important thing to realize is that, at least in those two villages, the main walkway is pretty far removed from the buildings themselves. So even a herd of elephants wouldn't exactly disturb the preferred room people.

Preferred location is preferred location ONLY due to the shorter walking distance to Old Port Royale.

as a bus driver, i'll let in on the info. there are seven stops at Caribbean beach. MK and PI start at martinique, then Old port royale, trinidad north, trinidad south, jamaica, aruba, and barbados. MGM, AK, and Epcot busses start on the B-side with Jamaica being first and Trinidad south being last.

Thanks for the info. It seemed like when we stayed in Barbados, we were always pick-up number 3 and drop-off number 3, even when going to and from MK. It sounds like Barbados would be last for the MK and Pleasure Island. Is it always like that? I know it was a few years back, but I do not recall using the main entrance for bus traffic that often except when leaving. Seems like we always came in the Side (B) entrance.

Either way, we look forward to heading back in November.:D

That's good to know. We will be staying at CBR this September. Like the OP this is our 3rd trip to WDW but our first stay at CBR. We had booked AKL but decided to save a little change. All in all it looks like a great resort.

You made a very very very very very wise decision in taking CBR over AKL. If AKL was the same price as CBR I might be able to recommend it over CBR but at the astronomical price for what you get, AKL is probably the most over priced place Disney has.

We loved CBR when we stayed there a few years ago. Shutters is a good place to eat. Even though we are not staying there next week, we do plan on going to get a meal at Shutters. Get a good seat (hammock) for the fireworks! You will enjoy it there.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me, or show me on a map where this resort is located? Please. I know it is by Epcot, but where.

I don't know if you can really say its by Epcot.. you can see the ball from the place and the fireworks but only over the treetops.... there's major tree growth and highway between you and epcot.
