Caribbean Beach - going soon

Hi guys! I'm new here.
On our last three trips to WDW, my wife, son and I have stayed at Dixie Landings (yes, I know - Riverside - I'll never get use to that... :veryconfu ). Anyway, this time (29 June - 6 July) we are staying at the CBR. Some things I've seen on other sites haven't been too complimentary to that resort. Me, I don't believe Disney will let us down: but to be on the safe side I've requested a recently refurbished room. Any other thoughts or recommendations? Anyway, my 15 year old is playing it cool, But I can't wait :sohappy:

:sohappy: I love Caribbean Beach!! :sohappy:

We stayed there in 2000 for our honeymoon. You'll love it! Have you been to www.wdwig.com? There are pics there of the resort and also a MAP which is very important, because CB is a very big resort, and you may want to request a certain area. Personally I would take Aruba or Jamaica.

Have a great time!!

Always been a huge fan of the Carribean Beach Resort. Whenever the Poly wasn't in the budget, we'd opt for the CBR. It's got the best jogging path on property too!

When I stayed there it took a little time getting used to the multiple bus stop thing, but after getting past that and taking a walk around the place I really enjoyed it. Great arcade and food court, too.

From what i have read, all the rooms at CBR have been remodeld extensively. The pictures I have seen of the newly done rooms show that it seems to be true and the rooms are much more colorful than before and appear to be nicer. I have stayed twice and was assigned Martinique which I think is the least pretty of the villages. Yes it was conveneint to everything but I would have prefered Jamaica as it looks like a more expensive resort. :) The buses were great and we never waited long for one and it took only 6-10 minutes too make the rounds of the resort before heading to a park.

:sohappy: My fiancé and me were there last September, and loved it, we stayed in Jamaica, and all the rooms were refurbished there. The bus stop is nice and close, and to get to the pool and food court, is a nice short walk across the island. I recommend the hot tub at night after a day at the parks, it’s the best.:sohappy:

Just returned from WDW. We stayed at the Carribean Beach and really loved it. The rooms were awesome. I will send out one word of a advice. We stayed in Jamica which was great. However, we were in building 41 on the outside corner. It was almost as far away as Trinadad South. If you stay in Jamica consider STRONGLY asking for a room in building 43. It's the building that is just a short hop - skip away from the bridge. It would take us about 5-7 minutes one way to get to the food court and at the end of the day - it was had to walk that for drinks. The great thing about Jamica too is that for most of the parks - it's the first stop on the bus route (they come in the back way). Which means you're the first on an empty bus and the first off of a full bus. We really enjoyed that part. It was a nice centrally located resort too. Food court was good. And they are one of the few places that actually had Mr. Pibb on the drink island. YEAH!!!! I can't stand Coke and need caffine in the morning so I was HAPPY:lol: Had no problems - everything was great! Even got one of the washcloth birds one day. :sohappy:

!! Caribbean Beach is our resort of choice... I prefer it over any of the other moderate priced resorts! We've stayed in Martinique, Jamaica, Aruba & Barbados sections, and I would prefer Jamaica or Martinique over the others. I enjoyed walking the 1 plus mile promenade each morning while the others were waking up and getting ready to start their day (I'm an early riser... who can waste a minute at WDW?) We loved renting the boats and bicycles for days hanging around the resort! You'll enjoy... no doubt! :)

During the morning rush... the busses will alternate between Jamaica and Martinique being the first stop... Once the busses all converge to routes (at approx 11am), Jamaica does usually become the first stop (although, I do beleive there are still some route busses that service Martinique first)

Another note for those of you staying, and concerned about the size of the resort... there is an Internal Resort Shuttle bus that will run through the resort approx every 20 mins...

I love stayin at Carribean Beach, my family and I have stayed there several times in the last 20 years, and I reciently stayed there with a few friends for New YEars. IF you can, ask to stay in Jamacia, it is usually the first bus stop, and it is the closest to the bridge to walk to the main buildings.

the only downside is the area it covers, but it is so quiet, since there are several buildings that are only 2 stories tall. if you stay on the first floor though, watch for little frogs and lizards, they like to try to run into you rooms! (ok, that only happened once, but it was really funny!)

enjoy, I think you will. :D

You can also check with the drivers to see if Jamica is first and ride any bus around to another stop. We did that a couple times - saves a ton of time. Cause it never fails - that's the bus that you just missed while walking to the bus stop.
