I am a senior in high school and plan on applying for careerstart and wanted to know how long the program lasts, and which months (from what month to what month)

Also anything that you would like to share about the process of getting into careerstart, your experiences, anything I would love to hear it all.

I went to a meeting with my son 2 years ago, so memories are hazy.

I think the start dates are February and August. I'm sure someone will be along with more accurate information.

However, if I may, some advice.

Dress for an interview. Business casual is fine--khakis instead of jeans, a shirt with buttons instead of a t-shirt--you get the idea. They may talk to you individually, and that WILL be an interview.

Only one chance to make a first impression, and all that stuff.............

I don't think they are doing any live presentations or interviews for CS this season. But, it never hurts to dress up anyways-- it sets the mood and is more "real" of an interview. Oh, and smile. A lot. They can tell, even over the phone! As a supervisor that has recently conducted several interviews and phone calls to schedule interviews, that makes all the difference in first impressions. Good luck!!

The programs go from August-January, and then February to some month, I'm not exactly sure.

I had a blast on the program. You have to go in with a really open mind over your role, though, because you get less of a choice over what you'll do than the College Program. I ended up doing Custodial at Epcot (even though my interviewer told me she though I'd do well with a spieling role, and that she'd try to get me the Jungle Cruise...) and, surprisingly, I actually did enjoy my job for the most part.

If you have any specific questions, go ahead and send me a PM. I will answer them to the best of my ability :-)

they are no longer actively recruiting for Career Start (online only) as I was told by my recruiter

She also mentioned that they will not expand the program.

Thanks.

I feel so totally excited, and overwhelmed all at once. I will try to keep you all posted on the whole process, for any of those who are interested in signing up for future seasons.
