Car vs. Monorail Advice

OK, so we're staying at the Polynesian. On one of our Epcot days, we're planning on leaving the park for an afternoon in the pool, followed by dinner at San Angel Inn at 6PM.

Would there be a substantial benefit to driving back over before dinner and entering through the International Gateway or should we just stick to the monorail? If so, where's the best place to park (closest walk)? Beach Club? Downtown Disney?

Thanks for any suggestions!

That is not true. Resort parking lots are for guests of the resort and people using the facilities of that resort. If that wasn't the case, I think you would see a lot of people parking at the contemporary to walk to the MK.

Makes perfect sense. I'm sure I knew that and the fact that I'm so close to leaving has made me loopy.

I have heard of people saying they are going to Chef Mickey's and then parking at MK parking lot to not pay parking.

Exactly as zortek said. Everyone would park at one of the monorail resorts and avoid the hassle. Or the parking fee if non-resort guests. They will allow you into them if you want to eat there but only for a few hours, I think it is three. Which is why we always eat there. It really would cause complete congestion otherwise.
