Johnny Depp was nominated along with Jude Law, Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray and Sean Penn for best actor!

Definately some stiff competition for Capt. Sparrow, but let's all keep our fingers crossed on Oscar night.

What's with Disney not pushing for "Look Through My Eyes" in the best original song category? I know Phil Collins didn't want to work to publicize it, but couldn't Disney have still made sure it was nominated? Or at least Great Spirits or No Way Out, they were all amazing. But then again, i havent heard any of those songs that were nominated.

Right now, the Yahoo's Academy Awards website has a poll going on for Best Actor. Johnny Depp is leading with 52%, the next closest is Sean Penn with 20%. Go Johnny!

Destinos? OMG now I'm very excited. I saw this when I toured WDA in Burbank and the film was amazing. I met the director as well. The artwork in the film was done by Salvador Dali in concordance with Walt when he was still alive. I think there is another film using his artwork they did as well but Destinos is the one I know about.

I was very sad and angry Johnny didn't win at Sunday's Golden Globes...I feel he was shafted. :lookaroun (Bill Murry won)

So, I hope the voters for the Academy Awards make the right decision and pick Johnny for Best Actor....after all, who ever thought this movie would be such a HUGE success.....its amazing....because of Johnny!!!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Well, I don't think he's gonna win, of course. It's a family/action movie and they only award dramas and such. And besides, it's been said that Bill Murray really deserves to nail it. It's gonna be a first, I think, since he's a comedian. But the nominations alone, especially best actor and visual effects are gonna do wonders for the movie.
The same goes for Brother Bear. Since Hollywood has forgotten that 2D=animation, I don't think it stands a chance, but I thought it was light-years better than Nemo (probable winner).

As much as I want him to win, I think the Globes are usually a pretty good indicator, and they gave it to Murray. But I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!
