Captain EO...

Captain EO is Disney having one less attraction to worry about. Just stick any old thing in a show building and let it rot.

In my opinion, it's not the only attraction Disney has that serves as filler (Stitch, Ellen, etc.)

I agree with you although Ellen is certainly not filler!

I think Ellen's Energy Adventure in its current state is now serving as filler, but I wouldn't want them to scrap the idea entirely. It just needs updating. Unlike Captain EO, which should be scrapped.

... if Captain EO is so "outdated" why couldn't I get a FastPass for my trip in December? Yesterday was when I was able to book FastPasses and while my older DS may have seen Captain EO may have seen it when he was younger (he's 25) but my younger DS (he's 20), I'm not sure he ever saw it, so I wanted him to see it.
You're better off, your son might get mad at you for taking him to something so bad ;)

See, now, I have the opposite opinion. I wish most attractions were longer. I don't want to wait forever for a 2 minute ride. I appreciate these longer experiences very much.
Agree. I love the longer, more "epic" attractions.

People bash Ellen, but it's a really great concept that could be made a lot better with an update along the same lines. A 37 minute show is a welcome break in the action sometimes. A longer show can contain many different show elements and really tell a story. Problem today is people have such poor attention spans.

For what it's worth, I think Captain EO needs to go, but the theater has pretty good audio equipment, a moving audience, and a big screen. A re-themed attraction using the same equipment could work pretty well.

Even the "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" concept was OK, but truly out-dated. I'd like to see a less "stupid" attraction with some more elements of an original EPCOT ride, leaving you with a few thoughts about the future.

I would hate to see Captain EO gone before I had a chance to see it properly (then again, I'm a big fan of Michael Jackson, so...) but if they must replace it, I think a show based on Inside Out would be great and fit the Imagination theme perfectly.
