... if Captain EO is so "outdated" why couldn't I get a FastPass for my trip in December? Yesterday was when I was able to book FastPasses and while my older DS may have seen Captain EO may have seen it when he was younger (he's 25) but my younger DS (he's 20), I'm not sure he ever saw it, so I wanted him to see it.

I think Captain EO will be closed or there is another reason that no fastpasses were available...I noticed there were none available for my December dates either...trust me, that attraction is NOT that popular, LOL!

And if it is closed and you want your son to see it, you can watch it on YouTube ;)

No it won't, and there was hardly any 3D in the movie to begin with...

I actually find the 3D effects in EO to be a lot more entertaining than what you see in "Tough to be a Bug" or "Philharmagic."
There's just something about actual 3D photography of real miniatures, sets, and actors that's more satisfying to me than animation, even if the film itself is kind of dumb.

Maybe they'll close it forever :D
I can but hope...
But in all seriousness I'd rather they didn't close anything if there is no replacement lined up.
But showing extended trailers is not a replacement.. It's embarrassing charging people to watch something that's purely advertising.

They finally realized that glorifying Michael Jackson at a place for children was a really bad idea?

Maybe because the way FP+ selection is arranged, guests are forced into choosing 2 attractions in tier 2 .... so EO is being selected over avoiding MS and the other attractions are maxed out? Usually EO has about a 10 - 15 min wait so your son should be able to see it without a problem.

There technically isn't a wait at all, ever.. Just usually waiting for the pre-show to be over, or for the next pre-show to start.
