Captain EO

I tried to search for threads on this, but the search function didn't like the "EO" hahah

Headed to WDW in December- curious if Captain EO will still be playing. Saw it as a child and vaguely remember it- hoping to get to see it again.

Anyone that has seen it-- have they improved the quality of the film at all or does is it completely dated in the 80s?

It is the same film you saw in the 80's. Aside from a possible cleaning of the film, no changes have been made. It will bring back some fond memories or at least did with my wife and I. My 17 and 9 year old also really liked the film as they had never seen it before.

It should still be up in December. To my knowledge there is no real firm timetable for its removal but current thinking is that it will run for at least a year.

If I remember correctly, somewhere before the film it either states or says something about the film being presented in its original condition.

There is some film noise (visual noise), but the sound is fine as is the movie itself and the 3-d affects. It felt like watching a 3-d movie at the theater when I was a kid (but without the added sensation of feeling & touch). If you go in there hoping to see a High Quality film, you will be disappointed.

We enjoyed it. It felt authentic.

Enjoyed EO

Saw EO in September and I really enjoyed it....sound is great, picture is good. The film story itself has a couple of dorky characters and of course the '80s are very much represented in the hair/costumes...but it was great to see again - don't miss the preshow film on the making of EO....most of us don't realize how much went into making even a 17 minute film. Worth seeing!

This was one of my favorite things about the show. It was quite nostalgic seeing a thin, black haired George Lucas, leg warmers and the biggest highlight was a much younger non blinged out Joe Rohde.

While I am not one for nostalgia - I actually enjoyed Captain EO. My first time seeing it was in August. It lags the first 10 minutes but once Angelica Houston is reveled it is enjoyable. I love the music at the end. I was singing the tune for the duration of the day (until I saw MSEP later that night and that awful music was stuck in my head for 2 weeks!!).

I saw this when I was a kid, but did not remember much of it. I watched on you tube before it came to Epcot and was unimpressed. However, I saw it in the Epcot theater and the difference was unbelievable. My wife and I really enjoy the film.

In fact, we have been passholders for 6+ years and only watched HISTA maybe 3 times during the entire duration. We have now seen EO more times in the last couple months than we watched HISTA in 6+ years. The show is suprisingly very entertaining, and I am not an MJ fan.

We saw it many times when it was here before and so are looking forward to seeing it again. I hope the seats dont have that "stinger" at the end like at the Honey I Shrunk the Audience movie.
