I was at a D23 event last weekend where they told us the original outdoor sign for Captain EO was found hanging on a wall in the maintenance garage behind the Japan Pavilion. When it was closed, they took the sign down and they just mounted up on the wall and it's been there every since. They're planning to clean it up and repaint it and use the same sign they had when it was originally opened.

There are a lot of things in that storage area. It's HUGE. After all it was planned as a show building for the pavilion but never used.

I'm hoping it could open just a tiny bit early while I'm down there in June. I remember not liking it, but I want to see it now as an adult to judge for myself.

It's more than a little weird. But worth seeing. I remember being a little freaked out by it as a kid.

What D23 event were you at?

That is so awesome... Does anyone know where I can find some pics of retro EPCOT of the JII pavillion when Captain EO was around? I want to see what the entrance of the attraction looked like with the old sign, etc...
