Cape May Cafe Booking Problem

Hello,

I have been trying to book dinner at Cape May Cafe for Aug. 2nd, but everytime I call they say that no times are available. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know if Cape May is going on some type of refurb?

Thanks!

It might be booked for a wedding reception or some other function that evening. Have you asked about other nights during your stay?

Trying to get any restaurant with only one "acceptable" date can mean you won't get it if there's something booked there. Flexibility is the key.

Right, you have to be flexible with both date & time. I never pick out a day, I always ask if there are any open times for dinner (or whatever meal you want there) during our stay.

You can also check once you arrive (call from your room) to see if there have been any cancellations. We love dinner at Cape May. :slurp:

Try different dates, times, but most importantly, party sizes. Disney's reservation system is based entirely on what party size you put in, not whether the restaurant is full. For example, there may not be any more tables available for a party of 6, but there may be tables available for parties of 4 and 2. I have even gotten reservations at Le Cellier two weeks prior by breaking up my party size.

Usually the system comes back and says that you will need to split in to two tables. However, once you get to the restaurant they very often put everyone together.

PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS!!!!!

If there is not a single table available for your party of 6, our new dining reservation system will automatically look for nearby table combinations, and you will be advised that you may be sitting at separate tables. As DisneyInsider stated, the restaurant will still try to place you at a single table if at all possible, and often do.

Again with the new Dining Reservation System, if you make separate dining reservations for 2 and 4 as you suggested, you may not be seated anywhere near each other, nor will your parties be seated at the same time when you arrive.
