Cape May Breakfast

Has anyone done the Cape May character breakfast in early December? Do the characters change from their beach outfits into Christmas attire? Just trying to see if it’s worth the hassle to get from our hotel there. Thanks in advance!

no....they have never changed into holiday clothes ...I have been many times the first two weeks in December and they are still in beach clothes..sorry....I know that would be special at that time of year. I do know that Hollywood and Vine have had a seasonal characters dinner in the past....

I've been to breakfast at Cape May in early-mid December the past two or three years in a row. No Holiday outfits. The characters dress in beach costumes. The Beach Club lobby will be beautifully decorated for Christmas though.
As far as it being worth the trouble to get there from your hotel...it depends on where you're staying. It's a fairly standard Disney breakfast buffet with the usual American breakfast fare. The setting is pleasant. It's a beach theme because it's located in the Beach Club. It's usually very busy. Service is not that great. They will get you initial drinks but don't always keep up with refills. They aren't great at removing used plates in a timely fashion. Getting the check at the end can require patience. The character interactions are very good though. We go there when we're staying at Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Boardwalk Inn, and we have children with us. I wouldn't bother if we were staying somewhere else (on the monorail loop for example). I also wouldn't go if I didn't have children with me. I'm not a big buffet fan and I don't tend to interact with characters unless it's for the sake of a child I adore.

Thank you everyone. We are staying at movies for a short trip and I was trying to knock out characters to save time at the park. We just booked three days ago so Hollywood and Vine dinner (what I really wanted) has no times.

If you do decide on Cape May, and you don't take an Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van to get there, the best way to get there (IMHO) via Disney Transportation is to take a bus to Disney Studios and then walk or take the boat, although walking is always faster. Look for the signs as soon as you get off the bus at Studios that point to "Walkway to Epcot".

My recommendation (if feasible with your family) is make a later morning ADR (perhaps around 10:15) This will allow you to go to EPCOT beforehand and do a couple things and then you can simply walk to the Beach Club for your breakfast via the International Gateway.

Wait to eat until 10:15 in the morning? Pass
