Can't decide...Hollywood Studios or Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party?

We are heading to Disney world November 14 thru 18th 2014 and are planning on spending the first day at MK because it's open until 12am, and the last day at Epcot. So, the middle day we have a choice. Head to Hollywood Studios for the day or go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We did both on our last trip, last December. Loved MVMCP but we also like HS. I have a 4 year old and an 8 year old. I just can't decide. I really loved Osborne Spectacle of Lights but we really loved MVMCP too. Any thoughts??? (We aren't getting the Hopper).

Personally, I'd go with HS. Not just for the lights, but for the park itself. The change of pace and scenery makes a trip more complete IMO. :) It's also slightly more cost effective if that helps.

MVMCP if you plan on staying late - hot chocolate and cookies ooooooooeeeeeee
HS for the loud music at Osborne Lights and a few thrill rides and some not so thrill rides and some shows.
No hot chocolate and cookies
All depends upon how the children will react.

For me it would come down to $$$$$. I would price out adding the hopper to your ticket compared to the price of MVMCP and see which one will give you the best bang for your buck.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I thought I had read somewhere that this is the last year for the Osborne Lighs, so if that is true, you may want to see it one last time.

We will be there during the same week! I personally love MVMCP and would choose that of course. The more time spent in MK, the better to me! You said you were spending the first day at MK since its open till 12am.. your first day you mean as in the 15th right? I see you are arriving on the 14th, so I wasn't sure if you meant that day or not. MK is open till 12am on the 15th. We will be there that night too and going to MVMCP on 11/16.. Having dinner at Yak & Yeti in AK then going to head on over after. We never get to have dinner at 6pm in AK so since they extended the hours, we jumped on it!

You do realize that the Party is a hard ticket, so even if you went to MK for the day, you'd still need to buy the party ticket. As such, I'd spend the day at DHS, see the Lights at 6pm, then head over to the party if you want to do the party.
