Can't book at Victoria & Alberts

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to book a table at Victoria & Alberts (not Queen Victoria Room or the Chefs Table) for December 2015, preferably the 3rd or the 4th but it's not showing any tables available.

This happens for most dates, even dates which just came available due to the 180+10 day reservation rule. Is Victoria & Alberts truly this popular? I went a couple of years ago and booked a few months before hand.

I've tried ringing them, but I continuously get a message stating they are busy dealing with other customers and to leave a message. I've left a message a couple of days ago, but I believe that due to me residing in Australia that they won't return the call due to the costs.

My fiance was told that it's much better to call and make reservations for V&A's. The cast member who he spoke with said that the online reservations rarely show the available times.

I called directly about a month ago for a late October ADR (after no luck on the website). Someone returned my call and said I was confirmed as long as I would agree to a possible 10 course (instead of 7) meal at an increased cost - somewhere in the $225 range, I don't remember exactly. They said it was undecided at this point as to which meal they would serve. I agreed and was told that someone would get back to me to in a few weeks to finalize the details. I'm still waiting for that call.

Another vote for calling. While I've seen the main dining room come up online, I have only once seen the Queen Victoria room available and I've never seen the chef's table come up. While I've never done either, my friend said she always calls direct for these.

We went a few years ago, and called the restaurant directly, at the 407 number listed above. It is absolutely worth calling and reserving here. The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. Of particular note was the coffee service and the desserts. Yes, they really do book up months in advance though they sometimes have last minute cancellations. Its worth calling either way. Be sure to pack a jacket. Enjoy!
