Candlelight Processional

I was so sad, I didn't get to see the Candlelight Processional this year. My family and I go see it every year since I was in the 6th grade (I'm in 10th now). Although, it's not that big of a deal, because my school goes to sing every year (including me) so I guess being in it makes it all better. We sang on the 6th and 24th of December (Marlee Matlin narrated the 6th and Gary Sinise was the 24th). It was really cool, except on the 24th it started pouring right before we went on stage and we were all soaked!

My husband, daughter, daughter's boyfriend and I were at EPCOT for the day on Sunday, December 14th, and saw it - wow! We'd never been to the parks in December before. Since we only had one day to spend because our daughter graduated from college the day before, we went to EPCOT specifically for that show - it was great!

I saw the Candlelight Processional on Tues. Dec. 17. It really was wonderful. David Hartman was supposed to narrate, but Colin Raye was there instead. He did a great job! Just want to say 'Bravo' to all the musicians and singers in the CP for a truly remarkable performance. :xmas:

Me too! Some parts give me chills, no matter how hot it is on that stage.

We also headed over to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours, and that was fun, but EPCOT was by far the holiday higlight of our trip!

I just want to stress out that if the mexican pavillion was decorated with those colorful paper flowers in orange and yellow, that´s completely WRONG!

I really don´t know where they got that idea, but we decorate just as the US does. The same garlands and of course, the poinsettias! It´s a shame that being them originally mexican, they don´t cover the pavillion with them. :(

Thanks! :)

CANDLELIGHT AWESOME

I sang in Candlelight this December 11th and the 16th. Yolanda Adams was one narrator and she was awesome and got into the music. Sadly to say, this was my last time to perform in it because I'm a Senior this year, but I plan on going to see it every year if possible. Everyone should see this show and/or perform in it.

"Let there be Peace on Earth and Let it Begin with Me"

This could be my last year in it, also. I'm a sophomore, but I'm in a Criminal Justice magnet program and I have to take other stuff besides Choir. I'm going to try to take it senior year, but I'm not sure If I'll be able to. On Christmas Eve, it poured as soon as we walked out from backstage and I had to pull my glasses off because they were wet and fogged up so I couldn't see the director for most of the show and it was really hard to remember where I was supposed to sing becasue he took the music WAY fast that night!

I went to the 6:45 show on 12-28-02 with Gary Sinise.

The guest choirs didn't take bows even after several attempts from Gary. He then makes a comment about how everyone is going to have to learn how to bow. The choirs finally bowed.

Gary does a Forrest Gump imitation "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get". A lot of the crowd went nuts. There was one woman in the front right of the crowd that kept screaming his name. He finally told her to "say something if you have something to say, or just shut up" or something similar to that. I forgot the exact wordings before I could get them written down.

Speaking of Candlelight, I would like to see an updated CD with Gary or someone else instead of 1999?? with Phylicia Rishard. The CD for sale doesn't include "Let There Be Peace on Earth" that was started in 2001.

Darn! You missed me at the 5:00 show that day!

The crazy girls behind me during the rehearsal were saying "I heart Gary! It's like those shirts that say I heart Florida, but it's I heart Gary!" The joys of young girls fantasizing about a grown man who is married and has kids. Luckily I wasn't standing near them on stage!:zipit:

When Gary came in to talk to us before the show, he jokingly taught all of us how to bow on cue.

Marlee Matlin told us to "Kick butt" in sign language when we performed on Dec. 5.:animwink:

Since the Mexico pavilion is one of my favorites, we spent some time (and money!) there. I don't remember an overabundance of orange and yellow paper flowers, so maybe they've gotten the message!

I agree...we spent a bunch of time there and ate at San Angel...I don't remember seeing tons of orange and yellow paper flowers either.
