Why is it that people are so eager to leave the show before it's even finished? I've been to a couple so far this year, and as soon as the narrator leaves, everyone stands up and charges out. There is still another orchestral section to play, and yet most people miss it, or are forced to miss it by people streaming by to exit.

It takes hours to queue for the Candlelight or an expensive dinner package, so why the hurry to leave?

:shrug: I've wondered this myself. Maybe the audience takes the Guest choirs leaving as their signal to leave? I've noticed this year that more of the audience is tending to stay through Wonderful World of Christmas than I remember from years past, though.

I guess they don't know that there is anything after the narrator leaves..To them when the celebrity leaves then it is over..who knows..:shrug:

People might think it is over. They do the same thing at Illuminations when there is the little pause in the show.

As I consider the OP's question, three prevalent possibilities come to mind:

1. Haste- Many people are accustomed to moving from one attraction to another at WDW and are in a hurry to get to the next event.
2. Manners- Whether at a Broadway musical, a graduation ceremony, or a church service, the truth is that social propriety is missing in our modern culture. Remember when people didn't take a phone call when speaking to someone else in person? Yeah, good times.
3. Ignorance- People seem to get confused easily on their vacation. (What time is the 3 o'clock parade?)

Going with bad manners or an apparent lack of social graces. How rude to leave a performance before the end unless one has a true emergency! We were able to hear Isabella Rosselini over Thanksgiving. It was wonderful!!

This is sometimes my reason. If its the 8:15 show, leave before the choirs start to leave. It gives several key minutes for getting a nice Illuminations viewing spot, since the rest of the attendees will be blocked from leaving the AA area until the choirs are finished crossing the path to get backstage.

Much of it is ignorance...people just think the show is over.

This annoyance is nothing. Wait until the new OG for Friendship boats takes effect on Dec. 15th. The lagoon boat's horns will now be blowing approaching and leaving each dock.

I think it's a rudeness issue for some, or maybe even an ADD thing.

It's a pet peeve of mine when people don't stay for the whole thing. Like when people cheer before the final note of the National Anthem. When I sang it for A Capella in high school and college it drove me nuts because I had practiced that high note for hours and no one really heard because they were too busy cheering. /End Rant.

Sorry about the rant. Maybe the CMs can let people know when the show is actually over?:shrug:

I think that new horn blowing thing is stupid....dont recall them ever having an accident that the stupid horn thing would prevent lol... reall really stupid rule IMHO!

people have a hard time just enjoying themselves... its like people who leave a game early, I know the traffic might be a pain but this isnt something you get to do every week... sit down, enjoy yourself, and if it takes longer to get home then it takes longer to get home
