Yeah that's a way of looking at it! I'd love to aim for Sept 2016.Sad but youre probably better saving the money and waiting until something new comes along. Attraction wise.

One more thing to add: People often say that "when God closes a door, he opens a window."
I know that you really look forward to WDW and Florida, and I do, too. But right now that is not possible financially for me either. My mother is having a lot of financial difficulty and I have to help her.
But I find that sometimes my eyes need to be opened to small and different blessings that I might have missed had my original plan have gone through. Perhaps this is a time to look at the good around you, and especially your loving husband, who obviously cares so much and wants to provide for you. Spend time together discovering some previously undiscovered places nearby.
I have also found it helpful when I am down to make myself volunteer and serve others. That in itself is a blessing sometimes, in a different way. Just seeing their smiles.
It is not WDW, but it may be for the people you serve... Bring a little of your own Disney magic and service to people who could never make it there.
One final thing: Is is possible to go to Disneyland Paris for a day or two? Or is that too expensive also? Just wondering. Anyway, blessings to you. No matter what, take the time to remember what you have and hold your husband tight.
P.S.: What is the "O" in "OH"? I get the "H," but not the "O." Sometimes these acronyms go over my head. LOL. << Speaking of acronyms.
Thank you for your amazing worlds, you are right in everything you say!
We did research DLP a while ago and it is really expensive! (OH means 'other half')
We have booked a week in Jersey (Channel Islands) for the same week we would have been in WDW. We went to Jersey twice last year for a few days and loved it so there's the positive! I wish it wasn't the same week as I don't want to be thinking "I should be in WDW now!" but there is an Airshow on at that week and I'm a plane freak! (another positive!)
We still haven't cancelled the booking for WDW yet as Dave still can't let go, apparently we can get our deposit back up to 56 days before the arrival date, after that you get a percentage which drops as time goes on, so at the moment I have 2 hotels booked at the same time in 2 different countries!
Jersey is one of several small islands (I think there's 5) which are called the Channels Islands, they're at the bottom of the UK but actually closer to France.Awesome. I hope you have a great time in Jersey. I have never heard of it. I hope you give us a trip report with pictures. Sounds nice.
You know what I find funny? You may have seen my other thread on The Sound of Music. Well, as that thread discusses, I recently saw that movie again but in the theatre. It happens to have Julie Andrews saying that particular quote that I used in our discussion above, "When God closes a door, he opens a window."
I wrote that comment to you before I went and saw that movie or even associated it with that movie. How ironic... or just another affirmation!
Either way, I hope you have a great time, and experience something awesome -- in whichever country you happen to be!

Wow, congratulations! I 100% understand the disappoint you feel. One day when your daughter is old enough you can take her and start a new Disney experience as a family!I absolutely feel for you! We have gone every year since our youngest was old enough to appreciate it and i had a trip booked for January of 2016. However while at WDW this past Jan my DW and I discovered that after many years of trying, we are expecting!! We now know its a girl which is very exciting for me!!!
(Before anyone says it, yes it is a blessing and i CANNOT wait until my little Belle is born!!)
It also means however no WDW for the next three years. With the added expenses, and the fact that I just know that the first trip with my DD will cost a small fortune, i cannot justify the headache and stress of trying to fit it in this year. We even had to cancel our trip to Japan next summer. All worth it obviously, but it was very hard for us to cancel both Disney vacations. Even now, my DW finds herself trying to make ways for them to happen (most involve me taking on a third job).
At the end of the day though, that next trip will feel extra special. Take the extra time, put away the extra dollars and absolutely spoil yourselves next time!!!
UPDATE:
We officially cancelled our Wilderness Lodge booking last nightIt cost us £100 to cancel. Now it's officially over the sadness has hit me again! Definitely not going back in September, my OH is still un-employed so no light at the end of the tunnel yet! We keep seeing WDW commercials on the TV and we both have to look away!
To all those who have trips booked please have an amazing time! Eat as many dole whips as you can, gasp at the fireworks, wave at the parades, and appreciate every blooming second!!!!!
