cancelling a dining reservation question

my sister & her family are meeting up with my wife & i for our upcoming trip. she had a change in the number of people coming on her reservations. it went from 6 to 4. we have 2 dining reservations booked together at the same time, but her travel agent mentioned she could possibly lose her time since the # of people in her party has changed.
the agent suggested that i could cancel my reservation for 2 & go under my sister’s reservation making it 6, & we can still use our DDP credits separately. has anyone ever done this before? i’d hate to cancel my 2 reservations & miss out.

Reservations are not related to spending DDP credits, you can pay however you like and spend credits however you like, just tell the server when you get the bill.

If you have two separate reservations you may have a longer wait if everyone wants to sit together as the restaurants may not have enough tables for parties of six, so booking a four and a two and combining on arrival may result in a longer wait.

It will make no difference either way.
As long as ONE person from her reservation shows up to the restaurant there will be no fees.
Also you could just cancel yours and go under her reservation and yes you could still use your dining plkan credits no problem.
Again either way it will make zero difference.
