Last time we were there, the crowds also left via Main Street and the side galleries. But the crowd waiting for the show (us included) was still huge. It was hard to find a good place. It was summer, however.
Very happy you had a good time! Nice trip report
TBH this isn't something that I have personally experienced before, normally it is a shuffle towards the castle as people stand up and people manouver for a good position when kids go on shoulders etc... however I may have been one of these people when Disney D-Light started for the 30th as I'd watch that and then leave to avoid Illuminations. However I feel like I'd either use the arcades or be off Main Street by the time the fireworks started.Could explain. Sort of seemed like the park closed, and everyone who was in the back of the park decided to leave by going UP the full street of thousands enjoying the show....

I have enjoyed your report and all of your pictures! Especially inside the DLP castle!Thank you! Just shot on my iPhone 11, and sometimes my parents iPhone 13
I’m on the right!

And, because I am weirdo who is very visual (to the point of imagining what my fellow posters really look like in relation to what I imagine they look like, if they don’t share photos) and selfies turn things around, are you the guy in the glasses or the shades? Just so I know who to visualize when reading your posts. Feel free to tell me none of my beeswax, or just ignore the question
It was excellent!Thank you! How was your day, directly the day after mine? Hah.
I was going to say that I have never experienced what @Disney Analyst describes during the fireworks, but then I think I've always stood over toward the Frontierland side of the hub while watching the various shows. I think that's by coincidence more than design as we've being trying to get last rides in on Pirates, Big Thunder, or Phantom Manor, but that may be the way to be blissfully unaware this is happening! We had the same issue regarding crowds during fireworks once a while back, so this time (and everytime we go) I had picked a spot strategically just off the side of the center path of the hub and behind girls that were a bit on the shorter side with no kids. Great unobstructed view the whole show with no one disturbing us, my guests were very pleased with both D-Light and Dreams!

We did pretty much every attraction in Parc Disneyland, plus a second ride on BTM at night, saw all the parades, saw the Lion King show and did Rat and Tot in WDSP. Our first timers loved it.

So genuine question, is this normal?! Have any of you DLP regulars experienced this before?
Do CMs not route people around the viewing areas? Are these guests who were watching the shows towards the front that decided to bail and get out?
