Can you show up early???

Hmm, how late can you show up to an ADR?

This one also depends on the restaurant. On our September trip there was a party that showed up a little over half hour after their reservation at the Plaza. They then had to re-book their reservation on the app, and the earliest they could get that way was three hours later in the day. They ended up heading over to Cosmic Ray's instead. We showed up a half hour early for ours, and they made us wait until the 15 minute check in window to even check in, and then we got seated right at our ADR time anyway.

Do Disney reservations work the same as outside reservations? Meaning if you have a reservation at 12:30 and you show up at 12:00, do they normally go ahead and seat you if there is availability? Or, do they normally wait until your reservation time?

Totally depends on how busy they are. I have heard people told to come back closer to their ADR time. I have asked super nicely if we could be sat early, and got lucky.

As far as being late goes, that too depends. No way will Disney turn down money if they can help it. But if the restaurant is booked solid then you may end up out of luck and looking for food somewhere else. And Disney can keep your no show fee too if you do that.
