Can you explain to me how the child swap works on lines?

The first time we are going to Disney with kids, so there will be some differences. My son can ride on everything he is tall enough and our daughter almost is too. Our youngest daughter is still an infant so there will be things she'll sit out for. How does that work if you are in line? One parent goes while the other stays at the front of the line until the other parent gets back?

The child has to be visible. Meaning bring them to the CM to show you have a child. They won’t accept you just saying my kids over there. They then give you 2 Fast Passes for that ride.

Go to the host or hostess at the attraction entrance with your whole party and tell them you would like to do rider switch. They will give the waiting party a pass and told to wait in a designated location while the rest of the party experiences the attraction. When that party exits the attraction they can switch out with the person who was watching the non rider and allow that person to go on the attraction with little to no wait, which is usually the FastPass line.

Maybe it has changed since last January but this is how it was for us - go to CM at entrance and say you want to do child swap. They give you a green card (similar to the red time card) and you go through the standby line. When you get on the ride you give the card to the CM there and they give you a paper fastpass that allows 3 people to go through the fastpass line.

So in summation some opportunist brings in a carriage with his "newborn" all rapped up with the attached arched sun visor open thus limiting who can see inside and goes before a ride host to secure a 3 guest pass good for the entire applicable month with dummy or doll. Somebody is doing this, I just know it.

This sounds about what we had as well. When you got the merge point in the Queue, we'd hand the cast member the child swap badge and they gave us a child swap fast pass.

When we used child swap after we had to buy our youngest a park ticket, we also used that in our fast past planning. We would book a FP for a parent and the oldest child on some rides and the other parent and the youngest on others. Our oldest would just use the her or youngest's magic band come ride time and we'd child swap for a FP to use later for the other parent and oldest. We could essentially book about 5 rides with fast passes like this for the morning. It took some planning to figure it all out so we'd all used our first 3 allotments together so we could then book more later in the evening, but it managed to work.
