Can you do 2 vacation packages back to back?

Our September trip itinerary just keeps growing LOL.

Now we're thinking of doing 5 nights at Caribbean beach resort followed by 4 nights at Poly. We would want to have 8 days in the parks, 2 days at the waterparks, and use the dining plan the entire time.

So what I think I'll do is book 1 package for the first 5 nights at CB and include 7 day tickets with plus options, and book the second package for the next 4 nights at Poly and include a plain 1 day park ticket (so that I can keep the dining plan).

Am I allowed to do this? I can't think of any reason I wouldn't be able to.

I'm also wondering about the plus options. If I have a 7 day ticket with plus options can I do 7 days of parks and then 2 seperate days of waterparks (9 days total), or do the waterparks have to be done within that 7 day period?

It's my understanding that you have 14 days to use the entire ticket package you purchase. As far as booking two packages; what you are trying to accomplish makes sense to me and I don't see why there would be a problem. Heck, you're paying for it; why should it be a big deal. I would definitely call Pam (Kingdom Konsultants) and let her verify all of your questions.

You can have 2 separate package reservations that would have to have separate tickets/options. They would not run into one another if that is what you are asking. Your question is a little confusing. The second with purchasing the 1 day base ticket and having the dining option.... As long as you have the MYW package, it does not matter how many days you have tickets for, the dining can be added for the length of stay.

The plus options can be used on 2 separate days other than the 7 you are using for the parks. The water parks do not have to be used within that 7 day period. If it is the ticket with the 14 day expiration, they must be used within the 14 days.

I hope that I have answered your questions.

I think the main question is to keep the Dining Plan all the way through the visit when you are trying to split your stay at two resorts? The bummer is that (it seems) you have to purchase an additional 1 day ticket for everyone in the room just to maintain or extend the dining plan. When you look at it this way it makes the Dining Plan Option a lot less attractive for the second half or first half of your stay.

We would also like to try other resorts for a night or two and then change over to another Resort but I did not want to spend the extra for a single day ticket just to keep the Dining Plan. I wish the tickets were not tied into the Room/Dining Plan but I know Disney has thought out how to make $$$ with the MYW system. This will definitely hurt early purchasing of tickets before going on vacation like the Hopper Passes allowed.

yes i was going to change resort during my stay. i have a ten day ticket and was going to switch to move to a few different resort with the dining plan. they said i would have to get tickets from the stay at the other resorts which would raise my cost of my vacation. so i am just staying at one resort. i was going to stay two at a mod and one night at a animal kingdom lodge. so if your going to move half thru your going to have to have to different ticket for the two stays from what they told me when i was going to move around. i hope you can get it your way with the dining plan.

Yeah I knew I would need to purchase theme park tickets as part of each package. That's why I'd buy a 7 day with plus options during the first package, and that would last me 9 out of 10 days, and then for the second package I'd just get a 1 day ticket so I could keep the dining plan.

I'm also debating whether or not it would be less expensive or easier to do everything seperately and use an AP to get discounted rates. I've done all the math and if I bought an AP the total cost of all my theme park tickets would be $909 (tax free from SOG), if I left the tickets as part of the packages then the total price would be $883.42 for my admissions. So buying the annual pass and tickets seperately would only cost $25.58 more.

But if I did that then I'd lose the dining plan, so I'd have to pay for all meals out of pocket. I'd use the AP to buy that dining experience card to save 20%, but I estimated that without the dining plan my meals would cost about $60 more, plus the $50 for the card.

So I guess my decision on whether or not to go with an AP will depend on if I can save a total of over $135 (to make up for the added cost of the AP and the added cost of the meals and dining experience card) on my resort stay. The 6 nights at CB and the 3 nights at Poly are going to cost about $2,100. So even if the AP gives me a 7% discount ($147) on lodging then it would be more cost effective than going with the package. Not to mention the discounts I'd get on boat rentals, mini golf, shopping, etc. and the fact that i'd be able to get all those same discounts again and free admission if we went back within 366 days.

Sounds like Disney wants you to stay longer BUT ONLY IN ONE PLACE! I know people like to try out other Resorts while on vacation and this will seem to hinder that. I guess if we try another resort for a night then we will pay for our food separately so we would not have to buy additional tickets.

True you do need to purchase a MYW ticket for everyone in your party for each resort reservation, however there are a few tricks that might help you.

1st - Make sure you ask to book both resorts as a continuing reservation. This way you can book your airfare and ground transfers and only 1 vacation protection plan (vacation insurance) to cover your full stay.

2nd - Unless the no-expiration option is purchased, all MYW tickets expire 14 days AFTER first use. If you don't used the ticket on this trip it will be good forever until it is first used, then it expires 14 days after your first use of it. Save it for a future trip. Do note the ticket is encoded on your room key with your name on it, so you cannot give it to another person to use.

3rd - Always purchase the longest ticket you can as a 8 day ticket is cheaper then a 7 day plus a 1 day. Keep in mind trick 2 above.

4th - When you do go on that future trip, you can always upgrade any valid (non-expired) Disney ticket for another of equal or greater value at the Guest Relations Window at any of the major Theme Parks. If the ticket was originally purchased with an advance purchase discount (ie a 5 day MYW + Park Hopper) you will get the advance purchase price on the upgraded ticket.

Hope this Helps! :sohappy:

Laura - Your idea is perfect... and will work just fine. Also, just so you know - the Plus Pack on the seven day ticket includes 5 Plus options... so technically you could actually have a 13 day vacation! (if you did the water parks, disney quest, and wide world of sports a few times) :D

Two Vacation Packages

I just booked for this June, 3 nights at the Poly followed by 5 nights at the Boardwalk. They gave me an 8 day ticket and a one day ticket with dining for the last day. It is two separate reservations so I had to pay two deposits, but they said it was the least expensive way to do it.
