Can you add days to tix before arrival?

After the 4th day, the net cost increase is like 10 dollars (and decreases with each day added), so I'd be a little overly generous on your itinerary. For me, it was like a 40 dollar gamble to add another day. We actually did end up using it as well.

You can also add it after you arrive as well. All you need is one day left on the tickets to be able to upgrade on site at any ticket window or guest relations

I don't mean to threadjack, but is this a new thing? I tried to add a day before my trip last August and was told by WDW and by some friends here on the forums that I had to wait until I got to a park.

I hope it has changed and I can just call--I'd love to do it before my trip next month.

It has been that way as long as I can remember.

You have to pay for it right then if you are inside of 45 days and some CMs might try to charge you a change fee, ( call back and get a different CM) but it can be done up until just a few days before arrival if you wish.

One thing to add is the OP did not say how many days he already had. For US travelers you can only add up to 10 days. After 10 you have to start a new ticket or get an annual pass and no, you cannot have a 10 day ticket, go to the park and use a couple of days and then add more back on.

I believe international travelers can get up to a 14 day ticket.

You can actually go as far as 21 days on a UK ticket. Lucky Brits...;)

Thanks for this. Do you think I can still add a day on the phone even if I bought the tickets from Undercover Tourist? Maybe that's where I got messed up last year. My current tickets are linked to MDE already.

I am pretty sure you will need to do it at the parks with a third party ticket. That is where the confusion most likely came from.

OH MAN!!! do you know if there is a good reason for this? Maybe its there way of crowd control? US travelers may stay longer if it was cheaper? This way they can "flip" the rooms more often getting more people in and out of the parks spending the higher $ for tickets. Or maybe you are not eligible for season passes if you come from outside of the US?

UK residents tend to travel for longer spans especial due to the expense of crossing the pond. They also have a reputation of spending money like water when they travel. Because of this, Disney is willing to take a hit on the admission to get them in their resorts, buying their souvenirs and eating their food.

Most US travelers simply do not have the vacation time to travel for that long. Even when they do, they don't often use it. The average American gets 14 days of vacation and only uses about 10.

To clarify, generally the only tickets that can be upgraded before arrival are tickets that are part of a package reservation. When you call, you're technically making a change to the overall package reservation. They just waive any change fees since you're increasing the total cost of the package.

Just be aware that changing a package means changing the tickets for EVERYONE on the reservation. You can't change just one person's ticket until after you check in.

If you bought the ticket separately, especially if it was through a reseller, you cannot do anything to the ticket until after you arrive.

If memory serves me, I think that since she bought it through UT that she will have to activate it by going through the park gate for the first time; otherwise, I think they would charge her the difference (including the discount she paid by getting them through UT) if she did it via phone, resort front desk or ticket window at park. Once its active you will get the credit for the full seven days, then you pay the cost of adding the eighth day.

Edit: the downside is you can't do your FP+ for the eighth day until you add the day to your existing ticket.
