Hi folks... OK so my mum, dad, sister and I are going to the world from 20th October to 3rd of November staying at Port Orleans. DDP was a freebie (1st time user), so we get 1x snack, 1x quick service and 1x waiter service per day.
I think I am on top of where to eat e.g. I’m definitely going to try le cellier and am aware it will require 2 waiter service credits. BUT my problem is when to go during the trip.

My question is how MNSSHP works, when is it on and is it true that you have to pay more to attend it. Is it on during the day or only after the park closes?

As this event doesn’t end till 1st of Nov do you think reservations will be required in the other parks or just MK as I’m not too sure if we will be able to stick to a set timetable?
This is the first time we are trying to plan our vacation instead of normally just winging it.

Kind Regards
Ali

Hi Ali,

The MNSSHP is an extra fee. What happens is that the MK will close earlier to the general public. I believe usually around 7 pm. If you have the MNSSHP ticket, you can get in beginning around 4 pm I believe. However, if you have a park ticket and will be there during the a.m. and afternoon, you will have to obtain a wrist band after showing proof of your MNSSHP ticket. With admission with MNSSHP ticket, the MK is usually open until Midnight.

The dates of the MNSSHP are below, along with ticket prices.

I would always do reservations, wherever you want to eat. If you don't make reservations, you'll get stuck eating somewhere that isn't as delicious!

MNSSHP does require an extra ticket (about $60 per adult). You can get in after 4 to the park if you only have a MNSSHP ticket and not a day ticket to the park (I think). At 7PM, they make everyone without a MNSSHP ticket leave the park, and the crowds diminish considerably. Wait times for rides are usually less than 10 min, you can trick or treat around the park, and the parades are awesome. check out the info on WDWmagic for past years maps and parade videos. We skipped it our first year, but went our second year...can't imagine missing it now! So fun.

As for the dining, you will definitely need to get an ADR for Le Cellier. You are within your 180 day window, so I don't want to disappoint you, but it is unlikely that there will be a dinner open. You can try a lunch ADR, they are usually a "little" easier to get are only 1 TS credit vs. the 2 TS for dinner. You will not want to do the Le Cellier dinner at the same time that you plan on attending the MNSSHP. Make those on different dates. A tip for making ADR's - for the most popular dining locations, you will want to make reservations in advance. They fill up fast.

I hope this info helps. If you have any additional questions, just let us know and we will try and help you as much as we can.

I recommend going for lunch. The food is still great and you can save that extra table service for something else. We've been there for both lunch and dinner in the past, and for our upcoming trip it was an easy decision to just go for lunch!

I would get reservations as soon as possible, you can always cancel if you need to go a different time/day.

Sadly, reservations are necessary in any theme park restaurant, no matter the time of year. While some last minute openings might be available in some of the less popular places, I just wouldn't want to risk it. With that being a free dining period all of the table service restaurants will be busier than normal, and reservations will fill up quickly.

If you're set on Le Cellier I would book a lunch, since it is still only one credit at that time. I would not spend two credits to eat there at all.

Also keep in mind during the same time period the Food and Wine Festival will be taking place at EPCOT. Traffic will be higher because of that, but this would be a great park to "just wing it" when it comes to dining so you can save room to snack at some of the food booths.

If I'm planning a trip where getting reservations is necessary I usually coordinate with the park hours a bit so I know which parks I'd be most likely to want to be at, at least the evening hours for planning dinner. Also take care not to book a dinner at the Magic Kingdom on the night of the Halloween Party. Unless you have a ticket to the party for that night you will not be able to be in the park (or a restaurant) after 7:00pm.

Because you're going to be in the parks for an extended period of time, I wouldn't recommend paying extra for the Halloween Party. It can be a lot of fun, but most of the decorations will be up all day long. You'll miss out on the special parades, but you'll be able to see the special fireworks from any of the nearby resorts, so I'd plan on having dinner at the Polynesian on a Halloween Party night and watch the fireworks from the beach.
