Can anyone help with questions about getting around?

I'm sorry if this is already answered somewhere else. Ok... trying to do my touring card for each day and I've gotten to the non-park day. My plan was to go to DTD and to Winter Summerland Minature Golf and enjoy some of the event that POQF offer (whatever that might be). In the guide book I have it says that the minature golf place is "a stone's throw from Blizzard Beach". Ok, so question 1... how close is that really? Question 2...is there a way to get from Blizzard Beach to DTD? I'm guessing that the resort has a bus to Blizzard Beach even in Jan. however what if it's closed due to tempature, will they still run a bus so you can get to the minature golf place? My hope was to do this... leave the resort on bus to BB and then walk over to WSMG play a couple of rounds and then walk back to BB and take a bus to DTD have lunch at Planet Hollywood and then shop a little. Then make our way to the West side and catch the boat back to Port Orleans and take a nap or depending on temp. go swimming and do some laundry, then eat dinner at the resort and go watch the movie and make s'mores (if they still do that). I just don't know if this is logistically doable. Can anyone help? I guess if the resort doesn't do the movie thing anymore we could always go back to DTD and go to the movies there.

Buses probably won't normally run to Blizzard Beach during the time when the park is closed for refurb, but I believe Disney will make arrangements. Check with the Front Desk of your resort when you're there, or try giving WDW Transportation a call directly after you're down there (407-939-7433).

I dont remember which bus goes to Blizzard beach, I'm pretty sure they share the stop with Animal Kingdom, but at the resort the bus stop will say "DTD/BB" when you get on, tell the bus driver that you are going to Blizzard Beach and he will make the stop at BB, then a cast member at the Winter Summerland will contact a bus to pick you up when you are done your round of golf.

I think the PP meant to say "Animal Kingdom/BB" for the bus stop. DD shares w/ Typhoon Lagoon

If your at BB and want to get to DD the fastest way would be to call a cab. Otherwise back to your resort first. I always love to take the boat to PO from DD. Enjoy!

Literally, right there. You walk up sidewalk to BB and you veer slightly to the left and its right there. Super easy to find and go to. But if you want to go to DTD, there is a mini golf right there. Did you not want to play Fantasmic Gardens or what ever it is called. :) That way you can stay in the DTD area and just take the boat to PO.

Winter Summerland is in the parking lot for BB. Kinda hard to miss, they just plopped it next to the entrance area.

Fantasia Gardens isn't at DTD, but rather next to the Swan.

Based on your plans it may be significantly easier to get to from POFQ by taking the DHS bus and walking over to the Swan and then to Fantasia Gardens. And then to get to DTD, just walk back to the Swan and take the bus from there to DTD.

If you do want to play at Winter Summerland, at the worst there should be a sidewalk you can take to get to CS or AllStars to get a bus from there. But those are probably 15-20 min walks, and not necessarily the best thing to do at night.

I didn't know that there was one closer. Thanks.

Does anyone know the cab rates or a phone number to a cab company? It sounds like it would just be easier to take the bus to BB and then walk over to the gold and then grab a cab to DTD. I was kind of wanting to do the Winter golf course... b/c it will be Jan. and we are doing that Christams/Winter theme to our trip.

Mears is the one that has the most cabs and what they use. You can call them. http://www.mearstransportation.com/global/orlando/

We went to winter summer land last year when blizzard beach was closed for its annual maintance. We got on a bus to animal kingdom and asked the bus driver if he would drop us off at blizzard beach for the mini golf and he said sure. We were dropped off at the bus stop and the golf area is really close to bbs entrance.
When we were ready to leave we were told that they only bus regularly scheduled for pick up was the Epcot bus, we wanted to go to AK, so we thought about taking a taxi but in the end we walked over to Coronado Springs and took a bus from there. It was a nice walk about 10-15 and full sidewalk all the way. I was glad we did that if was a bit of an adventure and we got to see that resort decked out for Christmas.
