can adults wear tutus

I would say a tutu would be fine as long as you wear the proper leggings or shorts under it. My daughter is 14 and I can tell you now she wouldn't wear a tutu in disney, but that's just mine. Your sisters might be different. Bring spare clothes just in case.

I know what the rules are, but my last couple of trips I have seen a lot of tutus and even full blown prom /princess type dresses on teens and adults. Last November there was a older teen girl (probably 16 or 17) wearing a yellow gown suspiciously close to a Belle dress and I saw her several times all day long s, so no one stopped her. My 14 year old did the pirates league last year and ran around MK and Epcot all day with her make up bandana, sash and sword.

What a load of moody gits some of you are. Bet most will think nothing of trying to have a conversation with a person in a costume pretending to be someone who doesn't actually exist on the character meet and greets, but if someone wants to have a bit of fun that's silly? Especially if they're 14? I would be thrilled if my 14 year old wanted to have a laugh like that - most just want to spend the day texting and moping around.

I'd say go for it! I know I would. If it is something small and non-costume like, then you should be okay! I've seen a lot of girls/women wearing tutus on my trips, so I guess it wouldn't be a problem. Just wear the appropriate clothes underneath, i.e. leggings. But just in case, bring spare clothes. You never know if the CM's will stop you or not. But otherwise, you should be fine. Have fun! :joyfull:

I personally have no problem with it, but I also think too many people are thinking tutus and are immediately envisioning a dance recital costume. There are tons of boutiques that market tutus and pettiskirts to the kid, teen, and adult market since it's very popular fun dressy attire. I realize my girls are not teens, but I put them in clothes like this all the time and not once does anyone ever confuse their attire with costumes. We've also been to a number of more formal family events...like Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation parties...and I've seen some of the teens and preteens show up in dressy outfits involving nice tutus or pettiskirts.

While the pic below is a pettiskirt and not a tutu, it's a good example of how some adults wear these as dressy attire...and I've seen tutus and leggings worn in a similar manner.

Not sure if this next one will go through, but it's another good example since this tiered skirt is an adaptation of a tutu.

All in all, it boils down to how it's worn, but I don't think it's a problem if it's worn like people normally wears these things outside of the parks.
