Can 50s prime time give you a booth if you request it at check-in?

Friend of mine and his wife are going to 50s prime time on their next vacation and its their very first time there.. so I told them to ask for a booth to get the full retro experience there with the tv and all.

If they are willing to wait for a booth to open up.. whats the odds that they give the two of them a booth? Did you ever see disney honor or refuse the request?

I would add the following - "Can Mom please put us in a booth? We don't mind waiting if she can help us out." With a big smile as well. Will go a long way! I say that because we walked up one busy day with no ADR at restaurant opening, and asked if Mom could possibly fit us in. The CMs behind the counter smiled, and said they would see what they can do. We waited less than 5 minutes, even though the place was packed with people that had already checked in, and we were called before a lot of them. Always be nice, and remember the theme of where you are! :D

I think what you mean is a "TV Table," and not a booth. (In the picture below, there is a TV table to the right. There is some booth seating (on the left, against the wall) which does have a TV above it, but the booths don't offer the immersive mini-kitchen setup that makes a TV Table so special.

...and yes, as the others said, so long as you ask nicely and emphasize that you don't mind waiting longer if necessary, they'll accommodate the request. We did it when we went to 50's PrimeTime. I don't think we waited more than an additional 5 minutes or so, and it was well worth it!

Though the TV is a nice touch, its not critical to the experience, you will see the same video clips on a loop many times during your dining time.

Warning with regards to the milkshakes!

You will most likely get the giant aluminum serving cup its mixed into, the amount inside is way more than one pour into your glass. At the bottom of that cup is a huge ball of thick shake usually stuck to the bottom, pour with caution! That huge glob gets ppl every time! lol, it comes out without warning just when you think you've poured it all, and makes a huge mess when it splashes into your already full glass. Mom doesn't like it when you make a mess!
