Campground question

We prefer camping at FW to staying in a resort, but it is nearly always full by the time we are able to finalize our plans. Has anyone heard of plans to expand FW or build a second campground? A campground next to AK would be awsome.

I believe they are expanding. I know they are upgrading everything. But since it is the best deal at WDW (in my opinion) you will probably always have to book early. I like the idea of the campground in the AK area though. Very good. There is plenty of land at WDW that is marginal for building large buildings so more campgrounds (with different themes) seems like an obvious choice for the WDW resort.

I have to admit I laughed with a thought of a camp ground by Animal Kingdom. Love the idea, would be neat to see animals from your camp site but what if they got loose?

It would add to the realism. That is why I am sure it would be themed to a Safari camp. :lookaroun Guess you could say the same thing about AKL animals jumping the small berms they have. I must say I really like this AK campground idea though.

PS- I think the animals are put in pens at night to protect them.

Im sure they are.

Down here in South Florida we have Lion Country Safari, and it has a campground next to the park. Its a TERRIBLE campground, no shade, basically just a giant lot, rinky pool, but it has one great thing going for it.

You can hear the lions at night and during the day roaring. Its very cool. If Disney could get that done. ( I have no idea how close the lion pit is to a border) it would be a unique experience.

A dark field with strategicaly placed speakers...no one would know the difference.:lookaroun

A few well hidden speakers would do the trick.

C'mon, this is Disney!

Animatronic Lions...and some hyenas...and an elephant graveyard...

All amidst the smell of the Warthog...

Truth,

And hey who wouldnt want to camp in a Jungle Cruise/Animal Kingom type setting.

The more I think about it the more it would be a great experience, like you were going on your own Safari.

Me too. I wouldn't even care if some of the sights and sounds were created with Disney Magic. I think it would be fun and VERY popular.
