Campfire program at FWC?

We are staying at WL and thought this might be fun to do our first night since we won't be going to the parks that day but I have a few questions.

1. Do I need to make reservations to participate?
2. Are Chip n' Dale there every night?
3. Is there seating for the movie or do I need folding chairs, etc..?
4. Are there refreshments available or should I pack something for the kids?
5. If you've been there--what movie did they show?
6. Is it usually crowed?

Thanks for your help!!!

We love the campfire and have attended many times for several years.
No ressies needed
Chip n Dale are there nightly
there is seating provided
refreshments available - but it might be cheaper to pack your own
I've seen several movies---
depends on the time of year for the crowds.

Have fun - and go early to make smores!!

There are no reservations at the movie but there are quite a few people there. There is plenty of seating and even an area that you can do the drive in movie thing with your golf cart though its off to the side. There are snacks and smores kits but its cheaper to bring it with you from your RV. The movies change all the time and are fairly new to the Disney classics. There is a sing along prior to the movie and a campfire to roast your marshmallows and smores on. The schedule is posted at the bike barn and trading posts.

1.) No reservation needed
2.) Yes, every night I have been there they are there. There is a nightly sing a long too, before the movie.
3.) There are benches, no need to bring a chair. Maybe a blanket if it is cold.
4.)There are snacks for sale, smore kits, hot chocolate.... and of course a campfire for roasting marshmallows.
5.)They show a different Disney movie every night, you could call ahead and ask what is showing on the night you want to go, call the bike barn @407-824-2742.
6.) No. It is usually well attended but we have always found a seat.

Have a blast! FW is my favorite place in the whole "world"!

I don't know when you are planning on going to the world but here is the movie schedule for April.
Campfire starts at 7:30, Movie at 8:40

April 1 High School Musical 2
April 2 Tarzan
April 3 Lilo & Stitch
April 4 Cinderella
April 5 Game Plan
April 6 Rescuers Down Under
April 7 The Apple Dumpling Gang
April 8 The Little Mermaid
April 9 Herbie: Fully Loaded
April 10 Chicken Little
April 11 Freaky Friday
April 12 Ratatouille
April 13 Monsters Inc.
April 14 Parent Trap
April 15 101 Dalmatians
April 16 Snowball Express
April 17 Underdog
April 18 Meet the Robinsons
April 19 Sky High
April 20 Mulan
April 21 Bug's Life
April 22 The Fox and the Hound
April 23 Mary Poppins
April 24 Brother Bear
April 25 Cars
April 26 The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
April 27 Peter Pan
April 28 102 Dalmatians
April 29 Toy Story
April 30 The Incredibles

We stay at the fort and like the campfire. It is good entertainment for FREE. The one thing you should know, unless they have changed it, is that Chip circulates one side of the benches and Dale the other. Then they swap sides the next night. But I suppose you could get up and move to the other side to make sure you get both if you aren't planning on returning. The sing a long is fun for the kids, and Miss Sundee is AWESOME. Its a great relaxing way to spend an evening after a busy day in the parks. Have fun!!

I got it from another site I belong to. They release the schedule for the following month just a few days before the end of the month. And they are subject to change.

Movie schedule for Chip & Dale Sing-A-Long

We're going to Disney the end of July, early August (7/28 to 8/5). Could you tell me where I could find out the movie scheduled for that time at FW? I'd love to take my son there. Chip & Dale are my favorite characters...shhh, don't tell Mickey!:ROFLOL:

The schedule is usually not realeased until a few days before the beginning of the month in question, so I doubt July would be available yet. Do a web search on "Fort Wilderness Campfire Schedule" or something like that and you'll come up with a few sites that post the schedules.

Thanks OP, I'm glad you asked about this as I've been wondering about it myself for quite some time. It sounds like great fun and we would love to do it sometime.

Don't they do something very similiar at the Beach Club? We were on the ferry heading over to Boardwalk from MGM last fall when we noticed a big screen set up on the beach in front of the Beach Club and we've been wondering ever since if they do something similiar to the campfire program at Fort Wilderness.

I believe at Beach club it is only one or two nights during the week that they have a movie on the beach.

When we stayed at the Contemporary in May, they were showing nightly movies on the beach. One of the concierge CM's said it was a fairly new thing they were trying out. Pretty cool, and free! That doesn't happen too often in WDW.

do you have to stay at the the wilderness lodge in order to attend the campfire.

No (Color added by me)

When does the Campfire program begin and what is it like?

The Campfire Program is open to all WDW resort guests. It generally begins around 7:00 pm during the fall/winter season and 8 pm after the time changes in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-a-long led by a Disney CM and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuckwagon (roasting sticks and marshmallows are $2.15). You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, cokes, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuckwagon. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-a-long lasts about 30 minutes. Next, one or two Disney animated features, depending upon the season, are shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a quilt or blanket. The movie schedule is posted at all comfort stations. In the event of rain, the sing-a-long is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

We're planning on doing this on our last night of our trip in December. Hoping to get into the 5PM Hoop-De-Doo then head over to the campfire afterwards. Thought it would be a nice wind-down evening before we leave the next morning. I've never done either the HDD or the campfire, and am really looking forward to them (and I LOVE Chip & Dale!)
