Cameras & water parks.

Hi, I can understand your reasoning as to why you shouldn't take pictures at the water parks. I myself have never been to them as my family isn't much into water activites, but I have often wanted to go to just take pictures. However, I do everything I can when I'm taking the pictures to make it so people are not included, but since I go during Christmas it's pretty hard. What I'd want as far as pictures would be of the landmarks, rides etc. Like the Mountain in Typhoon Lagoon or the wave pool, or Summit Plummet.

The biggest concern as to why I don't do it is because I don't want my camera a Kodak easyshare V610 to get wet or ruined. Again, I want to stress, I'm not a photgrapher of people, I like objects. And the water parks have their own iconic stuff to take pics of as well. Though I have never done it.

No offense, but I think it's an outrageously stupid idea. There are kids running around all over WDW, why not ban it completely? Better yet, who are YOU to say I can't take pictures of MY kids when I pay top dollar to go to a water park? That's the way I look at it anyway. Nope, I think it's a lousy idea.

Did I say YOU can't take pics?, Errr that would be a NO

I ( and as its a forum I'm entitled to my opinion) feel Disney need to tighten down on photography at water parks.

In my local swimming pool , not a hope would you get to bring a camera in.

Here's a tip: wear a more modest swimsuit if you're worried about someone having a pic of you. If you are covered up appropriately and dressed according to your activities who cares if there's a pic of you.

Boy, amen to that one!

I certainly don't agree that cameras should be banned, but GEEZ, some of the so-called swimming suits I've seen even young kids wear!! They hardly cover anything and they are supposed to be "cute"! Well, it ain't cute on little kids and as much as I enjoy looking at the odd (adult) bikini myself, I have to admit that even some of those are across the line....

On another note, I read the title of this thread and I opened it to post the advice to take a waterprrof disposable camera to the water parks and water rides. Never thought this was going to be the discussion!

I've been to the water parks many times and never seen anything like this going on. A pervert can probably find all the photos he wants on the internet in the privacy of his home, without paying $40 to get into Blizzard Beach to act like a creep in public.

I get the rationale behind this line of thinking, protecting the kids from those who might see an opportunity and exploit it but in reality those who do that blantantly are usually fairly conspicuous because they are snapping pics of people who aren't around them and/or of people who are not posing for them. If they are saavier then that they are probably already doing it unfortunately. I say don't let one or two bad apples ruin the bunch and if you see anything that gives you the wiggins then tell Disney Security.

If I remember correctly, didn’t Wet ‘n Wild have this type of problem a few years ago? They caught some guy taking pictures of kids from a hotel across the street and built a wall in an attempt to keep it from happening again.

I heard about that case, but I heard that he was on the other side of the fence which faced the children's area. but I never heard of Wet 'n Wild taking such measure.
