So I'm planning on bringing my VHS camera into the parks for personal use to take some old school looking videos of the parks in present day.. i was just wondering if they are allowed just cause of the size of the camera (panasonic ag-188-p)

i just want to double check before i'm bringing it!

Hard to say but given the size of something like that, you 'might' run up into the professional gear thing. It's not like the result will be but a security guard will not know that.

You should be okay, should also keep in mind that if you have an iPhone/Android you can download apps like 'VHS Camcorder' which shoots video that looks exactly like VHS quality and such. Obviously a real old camera is more authentic but the apps are a good back up plan, plus they are already digital so you don't have to record the tapes to your PC or anything afterwards.

Wow. Good luck lugging that around! I've not done that since 1990 with an AG-450 :D

Yes you may get a front line CM questioning it, politely explain your aim and that it's definitely not a pro piece of kit. I'd assume it has the VHS logo somewhere on it. If you do get stopped you can always ask for a supervisor and explain to them.

While watching The Goldberg's my brother said "that would be great to add that timestamp to your iPhone videos. Done! Thanks lol.
