I could be wrong but when I just rode it a few days ago I thought it looked just like her. I even got a picture to her.

I know the mermaid that you speak of. I thought that she's been there long before The Little Mermaid was created, but I may be wrong. She does look like Ariel. So, my question was more so along the lines of: is it truly Ariel (and she was put in the ride after The Little Mermaid was created), or was Ariel created with this 'red/orange haired mermaid' in mind?
I have never thought of the mermaid as being Ariel, but rather one that closely resembled her. I wonder if after the creation of The Little Mermaid, audiences have assumed that the mermaid on Peter Pan is Ariel.
I guess it would be a question of time. When was this mermaid placed there?
I was curious about it, too. I couldn't find any old photos of the Peter Pan attraction, but I can tell you that in the movie, there are two red-headed (how red their hair looks varies on the shot), pink/lavender shell-wearing mermaids (one with her hair down and a gold seaweed circlet, and one with a ponytail).

Speaking of The Little Mermaid, the California version of the ride features a cameo appearance from Mr. Limpet. I don't think he's in the Florida version, though.
Actually was just replaced a few months ago I believe.I'm not sure if it's still there, but Stitch's spaceship was at one point found on a wall in the Buzz Lightyear gift shop.
It's an interesting thing that he's in this..He's also in the film....My only guess is that it's the same concept but opposite a man wants to turn into a fish instead of the other way around which is why he's there..I wonder if they had to get an okay From Warner Brothers to allow his likeness being used in the attraction.
I'll save you the trouble..
Speaking of fish, Nemo is painted on a sheet of paper in the queue for Toy Story Mania. It doesn't look that much like him, but it's a clownfish at a Disney park. Who else could it be?

Speaking of, isn't the Peter Pan Viewmaster one of the toys in the queue?
Well, the series only lasted 2 seasons and knowing Disney if there is an empty space they can use it to their potential...Why DID they replace the wall, anyway? Were they afraid people wouldn't recognize the characters?
While this tribute reflects DL's Country Bears. When Winnie The Pooh took over their version of the Jamboree they Left Melvin, Max & Buff after the Heffalumps & Woozles sequence in the ride...It's hard to see them since they are in complete darkness and the only way to get them is to take a flash picture...And you have to do it quickly as it's a small room..
Part of me wants to curse you for using a flash in a dark ride. And another part of me wants to applaud you for grabbing evidence of this thing I've heard about, but never have seen. I'm so conflicted.
