Wife bought a new camera for Christmas and the battery only last one hour. Too late to find a battery now, since I will be driving there in 10 hours.

I've heard that in the past if you have your own charger, you can leave it at a park's camera center to charge. But I haven't heard anything about that (either yes or no) in quite a while.

Also try and conserve its energy. These are some good general tips

Use the view finder rather than the screen if it has one
Avoid constant zooming in and out
Don't keep turning the camera off - it's more efficent to leave it switched on if you think you will need it again in a couple of minutes. If it's longer than 5 mins then turn it off.
Don't fastforward / rewind the tape
Don't watch the playback on the tape

On another note, a while ago I saw a charger for your mobile phone which is essentially a pad placed on (or maybe in) your shoe. As you walk it turns the kinnetic energy into electricity and charges your phone. I imagine you could never fully charge it unless your up to running a marathon but something like this would be good for a video camera

Or what resturants have plugs available to charge while you eat.

Sounds like me last Sunday, poking around the lobby of the Boardwalk looking for a plug so I could work on my laptop while waiting for the DME. :)

(There are also some out on the verandah in the collums if anybody is interested :) )

You could always do what I did and buy a larger battery that holds a charge for a long time, then you use the one that came with it as a backup if for some amazing reason the large on dies. By the way, the large one I have lasts up to 3 hours. Another by the way we leave Friday evening.

I've had my charger with me and charged it up at the camera stores. But, if you like to tape a lot and be safe, get yourself a backup battery or two. I've missed taping some great stuff in the past because i forgot to charge a battery. I have two small ones, and one large one. I hate to use the lerge one, but in a pinch I'm grateful I have it!

At Disneyland, I have noticed and used various plugs around the parks to charge things up. Camera batteries, ECV's, etc. Restaurants, bathrooms, and some planters around the parade route all had electrical outlets, minus the bathrooms you can be next to your stuff while it charges and not be just standing there to charge the battery. I'm guessing Disney World would have some of the same things.

Just have to keep an eye out for them. :) and of course that doesn't beat having a spare battery.

I know they definately used to do this. Not positive if they still do it, but you could always ask.
