Our Beloved COP is not listed as an atractions in the booklet that comes with your trip planing dvd that you send away for. I was shocked that COP & its neighbor Timekeeper were not listed under the rides in tomorrowland. Seeing that this is the brand new items sent to you for the 50th it's sad that we must again think about "Walt's baby" COP might be turned into an empty building of DOOM like we have feared for quite some time now. As much as I don't want to drag another topic up about the rumor this does shed more evil light on the subject. Also as we now see timekeeper being a meet & greet to Stitch & Buzz more & more will this mean the timekeeper's time has run out? We can only once again hope for COP & Timekeepers sake they don't get pushed away to permently only become a memory.

It just makes me worry because it wasn't listed at all in the book. At least they listed the wonders of life building as "open seasonally".

Yes, CoP is operating, but Disney hasn't given it much in the promotional materials - if anything at all.

I agree: it is a shame. While Disney is focusing on clones of other attractions that had previously given a spotlight, it's a shame the landmark attractions created by the company's founder are in the dark. . .

Do not worry. Even if no mention is made, it does not mean the attraction is going away. I mean look at all the Epcot promotional material in which there is no wand.

The difference being that there are alot more people that would like to see the wand gone, than there are people that don't care about CoP. Or at least, it seems that way.

I have gotten maps before, without COP and freaked, only to find it was still there. So, No worries. I think since it is seasonal, it doesn't always get credit for being there. Does that make any sense? I am tired. Good night.

I did notice that these two attractions were not listed, however, neither was The Country Bear Jamboree or Snow White's Scary Adventures in MK, nor was One Man's Dream in MGM- and I certainly don't think these attractions are going anywhere! If you ask me, I'm guessing that they just decided not to name them on the map because of possible refurbishments, the attraction might not be well known/anticipated, or they might have just not had enough room to put every attraction on the map. :p Who knows?!

I understand that, Speck, but to offer a little to everybody and celebrate a history of 50 years, a tribute to an attraction could at least exist through the recognition of a Magic Kingdom show on a guidemap. :)

Going by the same theory, would a thrill ride looping through Sleeping Beauty Castle be appropriate? There's a way to entertain the average visitor and the loyal customer at the same time.

While the loyal customers are nice to have, they are a very small portion of the annual visitors. If push comes to shove, the attractions that get the most people in the door are the attractions that will be saved, will be cloned, a will get the marketing dollars.

I can not imagine an advertisement for COP or Timekeeper is likely to generate mush is any interest.

i bet 10 bucks someone is going to give speck a bad rep point for that remark...

i didn't :lookaroun

Funny.....as a premium member, I can see who left me the points.

The funnier thing is that since you are new, and have no rep of your own, you are not worth any points at all, plus or minus.

So anyway, back to you trying to neg rep me because you like COP....what....are you 12? Is this how you debate? Is this how you show your feelings......are you really that immature?

I agree with grizz, If I want to go on thrill rides and roller coasters I'll go to Cedar Point, not Disney. While I enjoy the new attractions, I wish they were originals not clones(i.e. Soarin') at least we are getting EE!!

But you are a Disney fan....if you were not a Disney fan, you would not be here.

99.9999% of visitors to WDW are not Disney fans....they are going for a fun vacation.

But, say even that this is COP's last year (not that I wish it to be) - would it not be appropriate for Disney to at least honor the attraction by doing the simplest thing possible (listing it), despite what an "average" visitor might think?

Sure, we may share our different beliefs on the ride, but its historical relevance and connection to the Disney "story" is substantial in terms of the parks.

I like the ride...don't get me wrong.

I don't really think many people think that it is relevant anymore, or that it ever was. To many people, it is just another ride, and that is all it ever was or ever will be.
