 ME TOO! Imagine being able to start at WDW, go to Port Canaveral, end up in LA and cap off the trip with a trip to Disneyland! Those folks on board are just too lucky!

I feel bad for those who take the LA trips...no castaway cay unless you do the 14 night cruises...and to think I was on that ship 2 weeks ago

Try going on a 3 month cruise throughout the Pacific. You would go mad some days. :D

The itinerary sounds very good. I hope they all have a great trip!

YEP! It DID sell out pretty quick! :(

I was really hoping it would sell slowly and the prices would come down a bit because I was ready to jump on it, but I waited too long!

They really should have put that ship over there during HURRICANE season in Florida instead of having two ships braving those conditions! It would have been great to have more choices this summer.

Bet they're already having a ball!!!

 <--- "Bon Voyage" SMILIE!

Anyone know how full the west coast cruises are? Full enough for Disney to continue looking at building a third ship for over there?

first ship update fom 14 day cruise

Follow Our Adventures Aboard Disney Cruise Lines

First Day on Board

Well here we are on the way out to sea for the 14 day Trans Canal cruise, Like I have said this is my 12th cruise on Disney Cruise Line. Check in was a breeze since I arrived about 2:30 or so, only a hand full of people in line. While boarding thru the gangway, I saw some new signs hanging from the gangway gate, so I took some pictures for Brian knowing we will probably get those someday. I am in room 5150 at the far end of deck five in the back Room is nice as usual, my balcony is a little bigger because its at the rear of the ship where it curves around the back, but the sides are solid, no glass like the rest. Met the room steward as he was moving in our bags. He did figure out the foam mattress I brought along also. Went up stairs for the party. We were about 30 minutes late leaving for some reason, looked like some entertainers were late getting here. They came up in a truck with their baggage and ran onboard. Then off we went. The usual deck party was in full swing. Yes Brian I got some of the Mickey hands with the dates on them, they are plastic this time, not the cardboard ones from before, Since we were late leaving the band quit when their time was up, but everyone was enjoying waving at people at the bars on shore as we cruises by.
We went to the first show at 6:30. met by the cruise director and she welcomed all of us onboard. If you have ever been on a Disney cruise, you know their shows are really great. Well this first one was really great also. I think it was called Let the Magic Begin, so appropriate, Had the performers in cruise line uniforms singing and dancing to a new song and routine. Then Mickey and friends come out to welcome everyone onboard, The first performer was a juggler, well this guy was the world champion juggler, his first show was just a warm up of his talent probably, had a great time with a member in the audience, who happpened to be a lawyer,,LOL He finished his act and the next guy was a ventriquilist, hope I spelled that right. He had several puppets that he introduced and was really a great show, he will perform his full show tonight and look forward to his performance. I got to hand it to the Disney folks for finding these two performers, really a class act for the whole family. The captain was introduced in the end of the show and his top officers,
Then to dinner at Animaters Palent, got to find spell check on this thing, Their are new menus and they seemed to have better quality of food finally, maybe it just the new menu and the way if was prepaired. Guess it is really hard to cook for over 3,000 on this ship each day. After dinner we turned in for the night.
I am posting this message on Sunday morning, could not get into the computer till today. We are at Castaway Cay today and will report on the activities later today

castaway cay update

Castaway Cay

This is always a favorite stop on our cruise, I have always asked the crews why we don t just stay here for a day or two. One of them told me that the bugs are so big and bad at night you would not want to be on the island at night. The Captain got us in about 7am this morning, did a 180 with the ship and backed us in just right. We got to stay until 5:30 this afternoon also. This made a longer day for us on the island. Had a nice breakfast in Parrot Cay and off to the island, We mostly just laid around on the lounge chairs till lunch, I looked around the beach and it was about 50% full, very unusual for this day. I think there were lots of rooms still available on this cruise, I checked on the Disney web site the day before we left and there were still cabins available. Guess its hard to take two weeks with kids to do this trip, Most of them are preschool seems like. Lunch at Cookies Bar B Q was good and the fresh fruit table they have now is really great. I had a massage in the cabanas at 3:00, If you want to have the best massage ever book this one as soon as you get onboard, I got the last one when I signed up just after I got onboard. The spa is run by Steiner, an european company and their people are simply the best I have had, on land or sea. The cabanas are on the adult side of the island and they open up to the beach side. Back on board and going to get a snack up by the Mickey pool. The shows start at 6:30 for us and look forward to the full show tonight by the ventriquilist, hope I spellled that right. Will get the entertainers names on here later tonight so if you ever have a chance to see these, they are really worth it. Till then, TTFN.,,,,like TIgger says,,,,Ta Ta For Now,,,,CHIP
