BWV bus route needs updated

My family got home earlier today from a short stay at Boardwalk Villas and the transportation got to us so much that we actually started walking to Beach Club to take the bus from there. I'm going to try to change our reservations for our November trip to a different DVC resort since convenient on property transportation is a big thing for us.

Going to MK from BWV would have us loading on a nearly empty bus and then going to Swan/Dolphin. By the time the bus stopped at Dolphin it would be completely full. If the bus wasn't packed, then we would sit there for five minutes or so until more people came which would almost always result in another wheelchair or rascal causing the Boardwalk guests having to give up seats (and in our case, with an 8 month baby old in tow).

Coming back home was even worse. The queue would nearly fill the bus and then the driver would wait until it was packed. Then we'd go to Boardwalk first and my wife and I would have to fight our way off the bus because a majority of the load would be Swan and Dolphin passengers.

In the end I couldn't figure out why Beach Club would get their own bus when BWV shares a bus with what are essentially value to moderate hotels ($139 for Swan on Travelocity vs $414 for Boardwalk on Disney's site). Coming back from MK would see 5-10 people pushing to unload through the crowded bus at BWV and the rest go to Swan and Dolphin. The BCR bus would have 15-20 people total.

TL;DR - Overcrowded busses to/from BWV caused by Swan and Dolphin guests tried (and failed) to ruin our trip last week. To get around the issue we started walking to BCR and taking the busses from there. Disney should really rethink the routing and maybe split the routes to to a BCR/YCR/BWV route and a Swan/Dolphin route.

I have very little, if anything, good to say about Disney's bus system. I can definitely sympathize with everything you said. Try staying at one of the monorail resorts - specifically the Grand Floridian. They lump Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian together - talk about sardines!

Of course, I still can't bring myself to pay for a rental car, nor do I want to drive while I'm at WDW....so Disney has me exactly where they want me.

We stayed at BCV in June and only used the bus system to get to MK, but I will say that every time we used it we had no issues. Only once, toward the end of the week, was a bus at capacity. The route did seem to vary, though. For the most part we went from BC straight to MK, but one morning the bus stopped at BW before heading to MK.

We drive to the World, and have learned that the bus system is something to avoid in general when possible.

We drove this last time, too, though part of the vacation feeling to us is the immersion. Plus given how far the self-park lot is from the hotel proper we might as well wait for a bus... :)

We haven't yet tried a monorail resort but probably will soon. We spend a majority of our time at MK and Epcot so we'd only really have to bus for our half day visits to AK and HS.

On our trip to BC in 2009 the busses were BC/YC/BWV/Swan/Dolphin and was still mostly empty. It seems like Disney split the route in half but didn't add any more vehicles and now has too many on the BC/YC route.
