Agree to disagree! And I won't get started here on how we're infantilizing adults these days and how that hurts them more than anyone... :)

By 25 you should be working for 'real' jobs and not just filler stuff.. you should normally be out of school and not just 'still looking' after graduation...
you've probably had some relationships...
you've better be living w/o your parents...
you've better be supporting yourself...

At 19, 21, 22... most are still ligitimately in school and have not been put into 'sink or swim' mode. By 25 you have no more excuses.

By 24? Still an excuse for the type of behavior we're talking about...? ;) I'm happy to say that my standards for my kids are much higher -- and I think they're better off for it.

ETA: But this is mostly OT re: Buzzy, so I'll drop it here! :)

I agree with this but IF you are American. There are other cultures who find it honorable to live at home thru marriage, adult years, taking care of your parents and their well being, and saving a bundle in the process. Asian and some Latino families do this with no shame, especially when they look at what this lifestyle does to inflate their savings by age 40. But if you are American I agree you need to be on your own or else your culture will ridicule you by mid 20's.
