Very true, just by switching this to digital, or using a newer copy of the film would be a great improvement.

I think that the whole based on this is simply for legalities (likely prior to their acquisition of Pixar). You would really go back to the original intellectual property as opposed to the series because the series itself was based off the movie. I think it is just more legal mumbo-jumbo than anything else.

Yeah, cause that's all we're doing here. It's not like we're talking about freshening the ride up are we?
God forbid we actually want a ride we can enjoy instead of one that has broken equipment on about every 5th ride vehicle. A few of us are talking about what would be nice for a replacement but no one is saying that Disney sucks or that we think this is the most horrible ride on the planet. Those that are saying that they don't like the ride are not people that are constant Disney bashers. They just don't like the ride. It's our right to not like something, welcome to the website. I suggest that you actually read a thread before you post.

I'll be seeing it in less than 2 weeks but in Dec '09 it was fine IMO. Some TLC can always help regardless of the attraction so.....
However, I think what "graphite1326" is trying to say is that there is a general frustration by a lot of us with regards to so many members here and their amount of negativity in general about everything and the "nit-picking" that goes on here. Yes, I know it's going to happen and there will be the same excuse of "it's because we care" but it is what it is.
Let's not forget that someone on the boards here actually complained about the color of the bathroom in Tomorroland when SM was refurbed. Still to me the dumbest thing ever. :hammer:

I get that, but what is being said here is a legitimate gripe about the care of the ride. Literally, every 4th or 5th vehicle has a defect, the guns never shoot straight, and the screen at the end looks pretty bad inmho. I do still love the ride but it needs a refurb badly. I know there are negative people here on this board and think that they know exactly how the parks should be run and how they should look. Heck, I just put another one on my ignore list two days ago because that is all he knows how to do. But no one on this thread is being overly negative about the ride. They are all legitimate complaints. No one is saying something stupid like they don't like the colors or sound effects.

I love the ride, but yeah, it needs to be refurbed big-time. The carts don't stop spinning at times, and they're all absolutely filthy.

I can't say this without seeming petty but here it is, I cannot stand having to keep one hand on the vehicle control stick and trying to fire with the other hand. :lol: The fact that I can do that and still get the 999,999 is pretty cool though. Yes, yes, I know that I cheat to get that score but hey, they shouldn't have put the spot in the game. LOL

I hit 999,999 twice. I didn't know there was a cheating spot. I know of a couple of the high paying targets. It's always convenient when the ride stops right in front of one.

I keep praying that someone will try to stand up somewhere on the ride right when I'm next to the big orange robot. LOL 100,000 a hit. :sohappy:

funny - I get just as equally frustrated by people who like to point out how negative people are. "Nit-picking" is one thing - and some people do find stupid things to get upset about. Being critical of an outdated and unmaintained attraction is not. Just as some people find fault with everything - some other people apparently love crap as long as its sugarcoated.
