Buying Park Tickets Online

Hi everyone,
We will be going to WDW in July, and I noticed on www.disneyworld.com that park tickets can be purchased in advance, and you can save a little money.

Has anyone done this yet? Do you actually have to pay for the tickets up front? For instance, is your credit card billed right away? Just wondering how this works. We will probably do this, but I wanted to know what sort of timing I should use to purchase the tickets. A month in advance?

Any comments on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks everybody.

Hi JEREMY!!

If you have a Disney Store near you, you can always go there to buy your park tickets before your trip at the same savings!

Thats what we usually do to save us from having to stand in line to buy tix at the front gate when we get there!

As far as purchasing online, I believe they charge your card right away, as they send the tickets to you as soon as they are ordered.

Also, travel agents and AAA (if you are a member) sometimes have even better discounts too.

Pam, DO your prices include tax, or do you still have to add tax? Your price is WDW gate price, that's why I'm wondering.

Yes, they include tax. Disney's posted prices do not.

Adult 4 day hopper pass through Disney (advanced purchase price) AFTER 6% tax = $203.52

Adult 4 day hopper pass through Kingdom Konsultant (including tax) = $201.00

I'm tired, but I think I got my math right. Give Pam (Kingdom Konsultant) a PM or an e-mail, I'm sure she'll be glad to answer any questions.

Like no2apprentice and sandjhooker said, Maple Leaf ticket prices already include the tax while the WDW gate prices do not. If you find a lower price anywhere, Maple Leaf will beat that price.

Disney Store

We always get ours at the Disney Store. Same discount as ordering online and you save on shipping. Plus, you have the tickets in your hand right away.

Everytime we buy from our Disney Store (I wonder if the CM's there are trained to do this) we always get a spiel from the CM's about how we should take them with us, then they call other CM's over and say, "They're going to Disneyworld and not taking us." And the CM's always act quite jealous. I think it's kind of cute, and it ALWAYS happens to us. :D

Pam, that's great! One more question if I could ask?
DO we pay you with a credit card over the phone or online and you send is the tickets before the trip? I will definitely do that if we have tickets in hand to go! :sohappy:

I prefer to take the information over the phone for security reasons. I need the name that's on the card, your address and phone number for the order. It will cost you $4.35 for shipping via Priority mail. If it's close to the departing date, the tickets can be delivered to the front desk of the hotel. If you have any questions you can e-mail me at pam@kingdomkonsultant.com or you can call me in the afternoon (EST) at 1-866-566-7858

Jeremy,

Last time we went, we purchased tickets through disneyworld.com and had no problems. No they weren't discounted, but it was convenient and reliable, besides I don't ever expect much in the way of discounts when it comes to a Disney vacation. Anyway, have fun & good luck planning!

If you wait until you get there and or have a disney club card, or AAA card, you can get a discount.. I think it all equalls out, since buying them online there is a shipping charge,,, if you do save money buying them online, its probably only a few dollars...

When we bought our tickets in advance to save money, as opposed to buying at the front desk at check in, the problem we ran into was that they did not put our park tickets on our room keys, so everything would be in one place. The CMs insisted that if you buy in advance you ahve to have a separate ticket from also being on your room key. This posed a big problem with us b/c we had little kids with us and just oo many things to hold on to. My dad told them to take the disounted tix back, reinburse our money, and we would pay the extra 10 bucks or so to have the park tix on our room key. The CM at the Resort did not want to honor this b/c it does not make sense to pay more, but she did make the transaction but ended up charging us for the discounted tix, which was nice.

I wonder about this. Last year when we went, we had one day left on our four day passes from our prevous trip. The CM at AKL was able to do the following: she took the day left on the passes, credited it to another four day pass, and then put the new four day pass on our room keys. Based on what she did, I'm surprised they couldn't work more with putting the passes on the room key. Maybe there is a difference between what they can do with partially used passes and unused passes, but I fail to see why one would be any different than the other in their computer.

Also, jaimjaim25 mentioned discounts with Disney Club. From the information I have, Disney Club is only good for the following:
5% discount on advanced purchase of Park Hopper Plus and Ultimate Hopper Passes (no discount at gate).
$15 discount on adult AP, $20 discount on Premium AP.

There is no longer a discount for regular Park Hopper Passes.
