Buying a camera battery

I was wondering if anyone knew somewhere near Disney World to buy a camera battery? The Walmart is out as they don't sell batteries. Is there a Best Buy nearby, or a camera store? If so where would be the cheapest place to catch a cab from?

I was in a rush to get to the Wanyama Safari today and I think I dropped my battery on the mad dash between Kindani and Jambo house. It really sucked because I couldn't take pictures on the safari and now that I still can't find it, I have no camera :(.

I don't know of any camera shops nearby. How about overnight from Amazon? There is a best buy at mall at millennia, but doubt they will have a big range of batteries. Good luck!

I am assuming that you checked at the camera shops in WDW? The are not the best stocked stores, but they do have some popular items. Their memory cards were not that expensive when I had to buy one there once.

There's bunch of camera shops near disney, in fact theres one in a plaza right out side of walmart on vineland rd. Heres the address to the walmart 3250 Vineland rd Kissimmee,fl 34746, put this in your gps and you'll run right into the camera shop. This will save you the hassle of ordering anything online, they'll have everything you need there.Have a good trip

There are gazillions. Almost every other store in the tourist area sells cameras and camera stuff.

Wal-Mart has a pretty extensive stock of camera batteries, too. They used to, anyway.

I don't know the very closest Best Buy, but I'm guessing it's the one on Osceola Parkway. There is one over at the Mall at Millenia. Those are the only ones I've been to and thus, the only ones I know.

If your room doesn't have a phone book (most do), ask at the hotel's front desk or check google. If you don't get satisfactory answers here, of course.

Good luck!

What kind of camera battery is it?
I have a fairly common camera and I still had to order one online.
Honestly, I would just hit Walmart, buy a new camera and then when you get home, return the new camera and order a new battery.
Unless you have a really expensive camera, then I wouldn't suggest that. Haha.

Thank you so much, everyone, for all the suggestions! I really, really appreciated them.

I actually decided to order one from Amazon, and it should arrive tomorrow! I have an older model Canon Rebel, and the Disney camera shops definitely did not have anything useful available. I ultimately decided not the take a taxi to a local store, as my friend had to do that (on the same day I lost my battery!) to get a camera charger and the ride was $60!!

Since I had already missed taking pictures on the Wanyama safari (which was amazing by the way!), and we are here for 3 more days, I decided it was okay to spend a day or so not attached to my camera. It was actually freeing to not be behind the lens all day :). If you talked to me yesterday, as I was getting on the safari truck, I was not feeling so zen though. At least I had instagram!

Thanks again everyone! That's why I love this forum, everyone is so helpful!

Is WDW still sponsored by Kodak? It's terrible - every year we go, without fail, something happens with the camera on the first day: (1) 2009 - took 10 pictuers and then realized memory card was full while waiting in line to be seated at Cinderella's Royal Table - husband has to sprint to the Kodak theatre to get new memory card - $25 later... (2) 2010 - basically same problem (you'd think we would have learned...) (3) 2012 - okay, this year we get a new memory card, but what do I do? DROP MY CAMERA on the first day and...busted!! Luckily, my brother had an extra camera that we used. We have the worst luck with cameras! Anyway...my point is... there used to be Kodak stores all around - would you be able to get a battery there?

I don't know your camera type but to get batteries for my camcorder I had to go to the Florida Mall, found nothing in or around the world.

Don't worry too much. I broke two cameras while on vacation at the beach and I dropped another and shattered it at Six Flags. Needless to say on my upcoming trip I'm bringing several empty memory cards, my DSLR, my nice point and shoot, and my crappy $60 point and shoot... Just in case. :p
