But it's tradition...

Our 'tradition' is to find something different each trip until we try everything. Although Dad always has to get a Casey's dog.

Tangierine Cafe on the first night.

And I've been eating their veggie platter for years. I've noticed the smaller portion sizes and different ingredients over the years.

Yes, I see what you mean because it's usually Plaza, Teppan Edo, and Orange Blossom for us. I haven't really seen a decline in them and in fact the service we got back on our most recent trip to TE stands out as the best to me. The chef and "servers" were great and it was all around fantastic.

Cosmic Rays falls into that tradition thing for us too and yes the food has declined but whatever. It's fast and decent.

Kona Cafe on the other hand used to be in that category until our Sept 2014 trip. We loved it previously and the Teriyaki Steak was a fave of mine. Then we went in Sept and the wait staff was rude, the chef was rude (came out for my allergy issues) and the menu (yes I know it changes seasonally) changed and he made us something and it was just not up to standards of what I had been used to there and we both got sick from it. So never again.

I guess Cosmic Ray's is becoming a tradition for us, but really our only food tradition is I get a Mickey Premium Bar and hubby gets popcorn and we eat it on a bench at the end of the night in front of Cinderella's castle and watch the crowds and the pretty castle.

Several traditional sites because we have favorite menu items that are must do again. But we always fit in some new ADR's to mix things up and try something new. Sometimes we are glad we tried and sometimes have regretted straying away from an old favorite. Our traditionals include.... Crystal Palace, Yak&Yeti, Hoop De Doo, Liberty Tree Tavern, Sci Fi, 50s Prime Time. ( and a few others ) But it's always exciting to discover a new place to add onto next years list of ADR's.

The last morning of every trip I have breakfast at the Kona Cafe. The breakfast is always the same and is my favorite breakfast in the entire world. I start with the french press kona coffee and the lilikoi juice. Then the greatest thing ever, the Samoan, with a side of bacon. There is no better way to end a vacation.

We were loyal Chef Mickey fans. I have NEVER missed eating there in over 20 years. Well, on our next trip we will not be eating there. It is time to move on. The food was subpar when we last ate there and Donald Duck flat out dissed us. The waiter was really cool but not worth it to go back. We ate at Goofy's Kitchen (DL Hotel) last week and it was the way we remembered Chef Mikey's being. The food was incredible, the characters came around many times and it was fun! It was also quite a bit cheaper than CM. We have lots of other places we love and moved Be Our Guest into the Chef Mickey's spot.

We always eat at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe at night, especially our last night, late when it is not crowded. Food is OK to quite good, but we go for Sonny Eclipse and the view of TL's lights. Another tradition is lunch at Harbor House where we find a quiet place upstairs and just relax and recharge.

Be Our Guest. We have gone the first full day we are at the parks for the last two years and will go again this year. No one ever leaves thinking that what they ate was particularly good, and it's obviously over priced, but it's just what we do.

And T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe.

Agree about Rainforest. It was great our first visit, but we've noticed a slight decline, especially the coconut shrimp.

However, there's once restaurant I will patronize, as long as I can get flights of beer and bread pudding for dessert. :inlove:

For us, the service has been failing, slow inattentive and even rude waiters. The food, while still tasty, has gotten very sloppy. Here is an example from our last visit, a large with pepperoni and sausage:

It takes a lot for us to complain, and we didn't with this and will take the hit for that, but this pie was just straight up sloppy, no effort went into making it. This is not the first pie we received like this only the one I could get to a picture of quickest.

I don't see a problem with the pizza, it looks like what a real pizza looks like. What is wrong with it exactly? Real Neapolitan pizza should never have it's ingredients spread around judiciously. They should be loosely arranged, looking like someone threw a handful of ingredients at it. I live halfway between NYC and New Haven, trust me.

My mother will always choose Ohana for breakfast. She loves the mango juice. In fact, this is the only dining reservation we have on our upcoming trip. :hilarious:
