Busy time in aug for wdw

Yeah thats the first month that season pass holders go since the beginning of summer - cause june and july is all blacked out for them. We went in august i remember it being very busy cause everyone was trying to squeeze in a final trip before school starts up again...but then again - disney is not disney without trying to dodge those baby strollers on a busy day! good luck!

we went last year at the end of august the weather was really hot but there were not as many crowds in the parks. We carried water bottles roung with us so we didn't dehydrate. We are going back this year with my nanna(its her first trip) and staying on site for the first time ever too! We also have the dining plan so im looking forward to eating in loads of places that we haven't tried yet!. Have a great holiday!!!

Hello Duxfields - let me try and put your mind at ease.

Prior to 2006 all our visits to WDW were over the Easter fortnight due to the school holidays - its busy at Easter but with careful planning its managable and still very enjoyable.

Last year we decided to visit WDW for 3 weeks and so it had to be the school summer holidays - we were there August 1st - 22nd. We were expecting chaos - worse than Easter. But were we pleasantly surprised !!

We found August to be quieter than Easter - by no means walk on to rides quiet but when visiting at park opening and heading towards the major attraction first and again use of Fast Pass, we found August a better time to visit.

On the other side of the coin is the heat - August suffers from more humidity than April - so drink lots and pace yourselves.

I don't know if they still seel the cool water bottle straps, but I have a whole collection of them from previous trips. They used to (might still) sell them in the parks. The top attaches to the top of the bottle and then you just sling it over the shoulder. It works really well for carrying stuff without having it be cumbersome on rides or not let you be able to grab either kid when they go to run toward Mickey. I would definately recommend something like that in the August months...it is HOT out there!

Free dining has already been offered to our friends in the UK. Here in the US we're still waiting. We're holding out as well.
