OH yeah. Very busy.

From my experience though, at the end of August is when the crowds tend to die down. Probably because that's usually when school starts back.

You're going the day after my birthday! It isn't as bad as June/July... plus it is towards the end of August so schools will start to be back in session, as Valawen9 said.

Not as busy as Easter or July 4th. Many southern US states start public schools during the second week of August, most university classes start around the last week of August, and many northern US states start public school first week of September. So, crowds are declining from peak summer crowds, but still busy enough. A hint on this is Disney starts 'value season' on its value and moderate hotels on Aug 5th (deluxe even earlier...July 8). We've been there with our boys a few times around the same time as you're planning and didn't feel it to be too bad. Hope this helps.

After experiencing easter and one day they shut Magic Kingdom as it was full to capacity im sure we will find aug pleasant. What about the temp. Back here in old blighty and where i live we never get above 90`s in the summer.

It will be extremely hot!! Upper 90s & low 100s.. by that I mean 104ish, probably more.
And it will be humid. I advise you NOT to go to Tom Sawyer's Island!

MMMMMMM beeer ....lol as Homer would say.:slurp:
Actually, water... You'd be very drunk drinking enough beer to maintain hydration in that kinda heat!

Of course, it is American beer, so perhaps you'd be fine! :lookaroun

We go every August and find the 1st week and a half to have the worst crowds. From the 13th-14th to the end of August are never that bad. Last year there was a 20 minute standby wait for Space Mountain!

Yeah, it's more the humidity than anything else... the temps may just show around 90 or so, but it will feel like 100+!

That being said, hey, it's Florida - it is what it is! The crowds shouldn't be too oppressive with a lot of schools back in, and you guys should have a wonderful time!

We went during the third week of August last year and found the crowds to be very tolerable, as long as we got an early morning start and followed our touring plan to get the E-tickets out of the way first thing in the morning. Most of the other rides and attractions had little or no waits.

We didn't even find it too hot (high 80's and low 90's), but the humidity is probably like nothing you've ever experienced, and it wears you out quickly. The pool feels great at the end of the day, or even at mid day.

Bring something with you to hold water for drinks in the park, and many extra shirts as you will be changing frequently for the safety and convenience of those around you :lookaroun .

Have a great time.

I'd recommend getting a hydration pack (or just being prepared to stop at a lot of drinking fountains). I got a nice North Face one that has another compartment to store shirts, gifts, etc. off www.steepandcheap.com for $22. It's a constant deal website, you just have to check it often.

Although the 2nd half August tends to be significantly less crowded than the first half of August, if WDW offers the free dining plan again, let's face it, all bets are off.
