Just looking at our plans for Sept. and this is probably a really stupid question because I've actually never had to do it, but; are there busses that go from MK straight to DTD? :hammer:, there has to be right?

Actually no, there are no busses from any park to DTD (a very common mistake!). The only way to get there is to go to a resort and then get the bus from the resort. Thankfully from MK you have plenty of options but I would suggest jumping on the monorail and then changing at the resort of your choice.

As for why there are no Busses - my guess is that Disney do not want people parking at DTD for free and then travelling to the park.

Yup. They actually used to have buses running from the parks to Downtown Disney. (Well, at the MK you had to travel to the TTC, just like you do now to get the buses to the Studios or Animal Kingdom)

But then the buses became swamped with people getting around the parking fee. And parking at Downtown Disney was horrendous, because people would fill up the Marketplace lots early in the morning with no intention of actually shopping there. They'd just park as close to the bus stop as they could. So people who were trying to actually park and shop at the Marketplace couldn't find a spot, as the spaces never turned over.

They eliminated the direct-from-the-park buses around 2001-2002.
