Buses from Boardwalk

Does anybody know if the Boardwalk still shares buses to the MK and AK with the Swan/Dolphin and Yacht/Beach? It just seems that these 5 resorts should each have their own buses since each bus is crowded after the bus stops at the Boardwalk, but it continues to stop at each of these other resorts and piling people in. In the past it never seemed like they provided these 5 resorts with several buses. A few years back it seemed if you missed a bus, you waited about 20-30 minutes fo another one to pick you up. It should be possible to provide more buses since Disney does not need to supply them with buses to MGM or Epcot. If anybody could answer my question, I would appreciate it.

I'm not sure, but I believe so...last June I know we dropped off at one or more resorts before Beach Club...but it wasn't an overly full bus, so not too bad. Maybe they've split the load a little more? :)

I've stayed there and I just had clients stay there. Yes, they still share busses with Swan, Dolphin, Beach and Yatch Club. It's a lot of stops and they never go the same way trip (meaning the order they pick you up, may not be the same way on the return). Busses get full fast. I wish Disney would get a few busses for just those resorts, especially Boardwalk. It's just so large with conventions, DVC, and resort guests.

I just stayed at the boardwalk last week... and good news and bad news...

boardwalk to and from MK now only shares with swan and dolphin. Y&B got their own bus.

buuttttt.... to and from AK shares with all 5 resorts. SOOO annoying. It's something we complain about ALOT!

at least we got rid of 2 resorts to MK though... hopefully by next year we'll have our own...

How the resorts are grouped (especially these five) depends on the season and how busy the parks are forecasted to be. They may even be combined or be dispatched separate buses depending on the time of day.

Boardwalk should have its own, Swan/Dolphin should have its own, and Yacht/Beach should have its own. Our last trip all five shared a bus back from MK and the waiting line was so long it was ridiculous. I could see maybe in the middle of the day that a bus or 2 may go to Boardwalk and then Swan/Dolphin, but not in the morning or at park closing. It gets frustrating especially when they do not have to supply buses to Epcot and Studios. The buses are packed going to MK in the morning after just stopping at Boardwalk. Then people get crammed in from the other resorts that it borderlines on being unsafe.

I know it would be nice if they each had their own.

It is not going to happen anytime soon.

A) Save on cost as a company. B) WE NEED BUS DRIVERS LIKE CRAZY.

ok guys, you are missing a very big point here. the busses arent set aside for the hotels. the busses "belong" to the park they are coming from. that is where they get dispatched from, and that is where they return. and if the system is running on schedule, each park sends a bus to each load zone once every 20 min. we dont set aside busses for a specific resort. it gets sent a bus when its turn rolls around on the dispatch board. maybe an extra one if the crowds are really bad at the resort. but its not like we say, these 5 busses are for this resort, and these are for that one. we go to a different resort each time we go back to the park. I may come in from carribean and then get sent to POP. its whichever load zone is due a bus that i get sent to. and when our new system goes fully operational, we might go to a different park from the hotels each time as well. so does that make any sense?

And by the way, MK runs a board/swan/dolphin route and a yacht/beach route. DTD does as well until they are combined at 11 pm into one route. AK runs all 5 in the same route. and 99% of the time, we start at Swan/finish at Boardwalk. the board/bird/fish as we call it is always in that order, since the boardwalk is a disney resort and the other two aren't so boardwalk gets the bus first. when we do all five, its a safety thing to start at swan, so we dont have to cross traffic 10 times going in and out of the 5 resorts. we can make all right turns.

I understand. I always thought they had a set number of buses set aside for certain hotels. All I know is, we have had a frustrating time with the buses at these resorts as it is always packed, especially in the morning hours. We have never felt over crowded on buses at other resorts. SOme of the other resorts also have more than one stop, but it always seemed buses came more frequently so they never crammed the bus full. While staying at Port Orleans or Pop it never seemd like we were waiting more than 5-10 minutes for a bus.
