Bus Transportation.....

Do buses run from park to park as well as from park to Downtown Disney? We are planning on park hopping for the first time on our upcoming trip in December. I am hoping that they do so we do not always have to go to a resort before heading to another park. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the busses do run, but there are other ways to go too. From MK to Epcot, you can take the monorail to TTC, then switch monorails to Epcot. It's a great ride.
From Epcot to or from MGM, you can ride a boat that also stops at each of the Epcot resorts. It's a very relaxing ride.
Have a great trip!

As stated before there are no busses from the parks to DTD. (Thank parking freeloaders for that) The quickest route we have used to go from park to DTD is taking a bus to POFQ than the boat to DTD. Taking the buss to SS then the boat to DTD might be faster but I have never personally taken that particular route. This will work in reverse as well hawever it is usually quicket to go to the resort closest to the park you are going to. (IE GF or Contemporary for MK, Boardwalk for Epcot or MGM and AKL for AK)

Taking the bus is a good idea, but we find that taking our car from park to park is a little bit quicker. Though if it's your first time hopping, I'd definately recommend the monorail (from MK to Epcot). It's part of the whole "disney" experience! Have a wonderful trip. We're leaving four weeks from today.........can't wait!:sohappy:

This thread is reminding me of the bus driver I had last week. Has anyone else had Adrian, the guy that tells jokes and does trivia quizes throughout the ride? That guy should get a cast member of the year award. Talk about keeping the magic alive!

The buses do not run park to park. You would have to go from a resort to a park . But there a ways of hopping around which are easy. If you r Downtown take a buss to one of the resorts near the park you want and it is easy to get to a park.On our last trip we made late reservations to Whyspering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge and then took the bus Downtown to do some shopping and then took the bus back to our hotel from Downtown when we were done. There is also the monorail.Once you look it over it is quite easy.Remember there are hotels near all of the resorts which are deluxe and have easy access to the parks.

I believe this is incorrect, I'm fairly certain you can take buses from park to park.

You are not able to take the buses from park to park.. As other people have stated, you must take a bus to a resort and then get the appropriate park bus at that resort.. I wish they had park to park buses as well, it would be nice..

When did that start? I remember taking busses before, but that was a few years ago...

There are busses from park to park, just not to Downtown Disney. I use the busses to park hop all the time, the most recent time being mid April. There are no direct busses to the Magic Kingdom from the other parks, those busses go to the TTC and then you can take the monorail or ferry to the MK.

I'm quite positive you are mistaken. I've done it before.

Well let me add to the confusion! I believe (was last at WDW in May '05) that you can go from MK by monorail to Epcot, or from MK to TTC to catch a bus to a different park. We had a horrid wait for a bus to MGM for a meal ressie that I don't think I'd ever park hop on a day that we had a special meal planned.

I am fairly positive that I took a bus from Animal Kingdom to Epcot before...so you can hop from park to park.

However, to go from hotel to hotel, you must stop at the closest theme park, or go to Downtown Disney, and hop on a bus.

Example: To go from the All Star Resort to The Animal Kingdom Lodge, board a bus to Downtown Disney and then board a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge.
