Bus Service at BWV and WLV

I think we are getting close to making a DVC membership purchase, and my preference is for BWV, although WLV might be a close second. My big question is with regard to transportation. Is the bus service to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, etc. really rough from BWV? (Our limited experience this past spring indicated that you spend a lot of time running around the Dolphin, Swan and BCV when travelling to and from BWV by bus).

Is the bus service to DHS, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, etc. better from WLV than the bus service from BWV is to the Magic Kingdom, etc.?

Hopefully my question makes sense. Thanks in advance for any insights you can give me.

We've never stayed at the WLV, so I can't answer that question. Our experiences at the BCV and BWV is that the bus transportation routes can be rather long since they are often shared with the Swan and Dolphin as well as the YC and BC hotel resorts. That may not always be the case, but it has held true on our visits. On our visits we have tried to walk or use the boat transport as much as possible, but without a car it is impossible to avoid using the buses entirely. Though the resorts are very close to each other, it seems odd that the route cannot be broken up. Perhaps those who own at one or the other would have more insight about this. It is not a deal-breaker for us - just a minor annoyance - but it can be something to consider if you'll be traveling with kids. Renting a car is always an option, but we like to forget about driving while on vacation.

We've stayed at the WL a few times, and find the bus service to be great.

You have a choice of boat or bus to get to the MK, the bus is quicker, it only takes about 5 minutes, but the boat is more scenic...

Buses usually make a quick stop at Ft Wilderness on the way to other parks, but that is usually it, at least in my experience.

WL is our normal place to stay. We have never had a problem with the bus service. The only bus I remember sharing last year was the one to Epcot. We did stop at FW for that one.

We prefer the boat to MK over the bus.

We have never waited more that 10 -15 minutes in any year for a bus. We go in September of each year. Also, the bus stop is almost right outside the front door to WLV.

They are about the same. I have stayed at both, multiple times. I never really noticed that much of a difference. You will share a bus at times with other resorts at BWV but it has been my experience that that is not the norm. Speaking from a location point of view, it is hard to beat the Epcot resort area. You can walk to two parks, you have a number of restaurants, and the general amenities that the area offers.

Stayed at WL last week. Shared a bus with GF for DHS and AK. Shared with FW for Epcot. We always took the boat to MK so I can't comment on the bus. It seemed to take a fair amount of time to go over to the GF in the morning before going to the park. Either way you will be sharing buses, so which would be better for you: the boat service to MK at VWL, or the ability to walk to Epcot and/or DHS from BWV?
