Is there a bus I can take from DTD directly to the MK? In all my years of going I've never thought of it.

Thanks.

That may soon change. We are waiting to find out the decision from Corporate on if we are going to start requireing guests to show us their resort room cards to get on the bus at Downtown from MP And PI. They are now already doing this at the Campgrounds to stops guests from parking their cars there to go to the MK or other parks by catching the bus from the Outpost or a boat that goes to MK to get around paying for parking. New speed gates were just installed for our buses to enter and exit the auxilary entrance to pick up guests from the Outpost and the entrance gate only opens by the transponders installed on the buses and service vehicles. Guest vehicles can only enter at the guard shack, and only if they have resort ID or tickets/reservations to the Hoop De Do Revue or Mickeys Backyard BBQ.If you have neither you are instructed to turn around and park at the parks.:D

That's good to hear. Always thought they should check for room cards for all bus transportation.

They used to check room cards to get on buses... it wasn't hard or time consuming.
Just flash your card when you go to walk on the bus.

Hi, I havent posted on here for a while but ive been reading all your posts on the buses.

Me and my 16mth old son are going to Disney in 23 days time!:sohappy: and I dont drive so will be using public transport as much as poss and the odd taxi. I am traveling alone with my son too so getting to and from the parks will be abit of a nightmare in its self :lookaroun

Im not staying on disney property we are staying on international Drive as it seemed to make sense to be in the middle of everything and I got a great deal!

Well my question is would I be able to get the Lynx bus to downtown disney and then use disney buses to get to the parks? I dont mind about having to go to resorts and then on another bus to the parks etc as we will not be rushing about just taking each day as it comes so to speak?

Any advice would be helpful! thanks in advance guys xx:animwink:

What about guests though that are going from a park to meet someone at a resort or are going to eat at a non-reservation resort restaurant. Also what about hotel hopping at Christmas time to see the decorations at the deluxe resorts? In general I see no good reason to require a room key for the buses, I really don't think it is that big of a problem.

Disney transportation is always said to be complimentary to to people staying at a Disney resort. Never has it been meant for the general public use. My hotel stay is paying for the service. Why should someone not staying at a Disney hotel also be able to use it for free?

Disney transportation is open to all people visiting WDW.

Sure, if you are staying at a hotel you WILL get free use of transportation...but so does EVERYONE else.
